Footy Classified made a point of singling out Troy Simmonds last night as someone who must go.
Troy Simmonds DEFINITELY needs to go. Never has there been a single player that needed more of a de-listing.
Who else?
Would you trade Deledio for a high draft pick?
Maybe. Depends on what kind of high draft pick. Allegedly, this years draft is very shallow, and with GC and WSYD coming in.. it might be a good time to hold on to underachieving pretty boys.
Who want 500k a season?
Agreed. Simmonds must go. As should Jay Schulz.
I'd hold on to Deledio. You sort of forget that he's still only 22, so he should have plenty of good years ahead of him. Same with Tambling.
Who else have we got to pay?
Jordan McMahon? His biggest expense is his remington.
Jay Schulz? A flagon of cherry wine should do it.
Shane Edwards? We'll buy him some protein shakes.
CAP. SOLVED.
The 2004 draft - first 10 picks
1 Brett Deledio Murray Bushrangers Richmond
2 Jarryd Roughead Gippsland Power Hawthorn
3 Ryan Griffen South Adelaide Football Club Western Bulldogs
4 Richard Tambling Southern Districts Football Club Richmond
5 Lance Franklin Perth Football Club Hawthorn
6 Tom Williams Morningside Football Club Western Bulldogs
7 Jordan Lewis Geelong Falcons Hawthorn
8 John Meesen Geelong Falcons Adelaide
9 Jordan Russell West Adelaide Football Club Carlton
10 Chris Egan Murray Bushrangers Collingwood
Sigh.
We really didn't do too badly in that draft (in the top 10, outside of that it was FUCKED) - note Egan, Williams, Meesen and Russell.
Richmond took Deledio and Tambling. They did horribly.
judging from 2009 form, who would you pick instead?
Obviously you haven't watched Tambling this year. He's come along in leaps and bounds and has really matured. Also, despite the fact that I am by default a Deledio knocker, his last half of the season will win him the B&F. He tackled and did all the stuff in close. It shut me up good. I think under Hardwick Deledio will really have a go.
Exactly, Fuzz. Deledio was better than, or on a par with, any of those players this year. Put Griffen, Franklin or Roughead in a team where the ball is so consistently butchered by the 'fringe' or 'depth' players and they'd struggle as well.
Plus, Deledio is better than Griffen regardless.
END RANT
What, do you think that Deledio and Tambling had better years/are better players than Roughead or Franklin?
Question already answered. I don't rate Deledio at all and I think a marginal improvement only came about because he was threatened with the 2s.
Also, he is a male model.
Mathieson - who do you support?
Richmond.
Holy shit! You had that 'haha, I don't support Richmond' tone. I'm over-sensitive to it.
In regards to Deledio:
I rate him one out of four times he takes to the park. After about round 13-14 this year, he was very good. But during the Wallace half of the year all he did was collect stats in the back pocket during junk time. I'm more optimistic than sure he will turn out 'elite,' but a man's gotta have something to hang his hat on.
Fair enough, F&FPie. I'm probably seized by the Hardwick spirit in wanting to see deep cuts made to the playing group.
Also, when I think of Deledio, I think of these two:

Party time tmrw
Robbed! Ah well.
mumble,mumble.....riewoldt is a star,...mumble,mumble.
:D
good fightback today... Place was going berzerk even when we were 10 goals down... That free kick really broke our back. Oh well. Didn't matter at the end though, the place still went nuts for Cuz.
$510 win on Jack Coleman. Happy days.
Had two gigs Sunday so couldn't get to the game - sounds like it was a ripper atmosphere, and half a contest. Saw the first half on TV at the pub and it looked TERRIBLE.
Bring on 2011.
port being shit really fucked us in the first quarter. they were all over them for the first 15 minutes and started to get cocky and just cruised for the first half... and then they found themselves 10 goals down. truly the best and worst of richmond. but awesome atmosphere. unbelievable.
lol says it all really. we took our foot off the gas then found ourselves 10 goals down. now kingy is up on another charge. i can't remember seeing anything that deserved a charge. cannot believe how well he played in the 2nd half of the season.
who would like to post up some potential delistings? heard a horrible rumour they are going to give mcmahon another year. say it aint so!
Not possible. No way in Hell.
As far as gone already: Simmonds, Cousins, Polak, Roberts... McMahon has to be. Hislop, Thompson and even Polo would have to be in the mix to go...
riewoldt won the best and fairest. newman, deledio, martin and tuck were the top five.
deledio should've won. but well done jr8. you are a crackwhore sanctioned superstar.
Just a ''star''. But, yes, a good year for him: Best and Fairest winner, Coleman Medal winner and All-Australian and he's only 21.
Interesting that Edwards came 6th and King came 9th... Good year x2
yah well done kingy. looking fwd to him belting travis cloke in the head next year & getting 28 weeks.
What happened to Relton Roberts?
delisted. couldn't give up the hamburgers with the lot so he went home.
What draft pick was he again?
wasn't he eating them an hour or so before games?
afterwards.
actually...
''Roberts rolled
THE self-discipline of Richmond's Relton Roberts came under fire after a Tigers' official saw him eating a hamburger before a VFL match two weeks ago.
Roberts was busted when he was due to line up for Richmond's affiliate Coburg in its Round 10 clash with Werribee, Melbourne gossip columnist Craig Hutchison reported. The 24-year-old, who has played only two games for the Tigers, returned to the NT to reconsider his AFL career.''
fkn hutchy hiding in the bins again dobs in a kid for eating a burger.
the burger wrapper probably hit him in the face.
