I'm not the most knowledgable, but I've been enjoying some new shit immensely lately, including Guccie Mane (Gangsta Grillz mixtapes).
Also, Pill (4180: The Prescription mixtape). Spread the love.
Aaand, to finish my self-posting marathon, Killer Mike's new album is gonna be a total bomb.
Where do I start? Oh I know the greatest crunk song ever!
Astral if you don't have this get it!
PS - It's 'Gucci' not 'Guccie'. :P
Cadillacs on 22s
Oh fuck, it was a typo!
Yeah, fucken love that album Trammy. Phenomenal.
I was thinking about that song today. Banner verse on 'Welcome To The South' is probably the most fearsome Hip-hop song concocted south of Mason-Dixon.
astral - I can't believe it wasn't released! I have paid good money for many shittier albums. mind boggles
Gorilla Pimpin'. Wow.
Also, Cadillacs on 22s Pt. 2 is quite bad.
Yeah I haven't heard that album- sposed to be quite bad. I hadn't heard of Pill before.
Trae is awesome!
Pill is quality. The video for Trap Goin' Ham is pretty full on. Gotta read the story behind it too.
Will do. Have you Juvenile's 'Reality Check'? That is probably the only Dirty Souf Rap album I really want currently.
check out al kapone and Kingpin Skinny Pimp
No, I do not, Trammy. However, you've got a PM coming your way.
Thanks for the recs, memphis. I'm chekcing them out now.
Astral- cheers boss! You are a good egg.
Everyone else - Check Datpiff for heaps of free mixtapes.
It's all love.
Good lookin' out astral.
If I had to pick just one Southern Hip-hop song it would be Still Tippin'. Unforch I can't find a proper version on youtube as the rekkid company took it down. :(

trae tape dropped. it's all freestyles and it owns.
Man you had it me at 'Trae'. :-P
Also some new(ish) Grand Hustle product: 'Fuck Da City Up' - T.I. and 'We Outchea' Young Dro. Get 'em from usual source.
Wasn't real big on the Trae mixtape! He didn't seem to be on it that much- more guestage than usual! :-( Newcomers better of starting here.
Didn't really care for the T.I. offering either! God I'm whingy today.
I was coincidentally listening to My Mind Plaing Tricks On Me when I found this Farcebook:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiWYCPmkisw new gucci. tape drops next week.
Awesome! Since as I have whined in here various recent mixtapes have left me cold I hope La Flare brings his A-game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6j4f8cHBIM&ob=av2e can't stop listening to this, it's so ridiculous and obnoxious that i can't help but love it.
http://www.datpiff.com/Gucci-Mane-Trap-Back-mixtape.305854.html it's pretty good. BURRRRRRR!
http://www.datpiff.com/Gucci-Mane-Gucci-Mane-In-Wonderland-mixtape.313143.html 87 track gucci tape in case anyone's interested
Awse! Copping it now - need some new earphones so I can listen to it and the other tape on my work commute.
Not really a fan, but Yelawolf is visiting the antipodes
I think I had a dream about the Yelawolf gig which is weird as I have no real interest in it.
At any rate, the new Gucci Tape is awesome, but me losing my Swishahouse beanie on PT totally fucking sux nullus! :-(
New Juvey tape 'Mardi Gras' Hardly essential, but ya gotta love some Juvey. His rapping on Mardi Gras sounds rather similar to B.M.F.
New 8 Ball tape Haven't heard this yet.
don't know how many of you remember fiend? y'know - no limit, there's one in every family, da headbussaz, 3 6 mafia...
can't believe i totally slept on his re-invention as international jones the whole of last year. been slowly easing through all 5 of his mixtapes and none of them disappoint. at times he sounds like he could be the answer to the perennial question i ask myself during times of creative desperation, ''what would barry white sound like if he could rap?''. yep, that deep baritone is smooooth as fuck and the soul-tinged productions are on the money.
here's a small sampling of the music that i reckon hits the spot very nicely:
some yela, past and present, i dig:
dzer - Yeah Tom Breihan at You Know Where who had the monthly mixtape colum said Tennis Shoes And Tuxedos was his mixtape of 2011. I haven't heard the others, but will get on it.
Apparently back in the old days he sounded different, but on David Banner's Mississippi: The Album (2003) he sounds much like does now. I think the Barry White comparison is dead on; he sounds like the other easy-livin' side of the coin to Z-Ro ravaged and cracked bluesy voice.
This thread needs more love! Anyone into ATLien upstart Future? Downloading now. Also filling in my gaps in my Weezy tapes.
Boosie not guilty on murder, still has 8 years on drugs charges
