Just in case anyone missed it in the other threads, four sick shows in Sydney this weekend.

OI EVERYONE THREE FRIGGIN' GREAT INTERSTATE BANDS ARE IN TOWN OVER THE WEEKEND OF THE 14TH TO 16TH OF AUGUST. GO SEE THEM. COULDN'T BE STUFFED MAKING FOUR DIFFERENT FLIERS / EVENTS ETC SO THESE SHOWS HAVE BECOME ''THE WILD WEEKEND''.
BLANK REALM (Bris). Saw them a couple of weeks ago in Brisbane and by-george it was bloody good. Velvet Underground/early Sonic Youth/Parson Sound drone rock. Add some hard boogie bass a la Chrome or Hawkwind, heavy synth and some creepy egyptian/surf/death rock Rikk Agnew style guitar lines and you've got a top band. Not one paisley shirt / JAMC looking sunglasses-at-night fag in the band. Genuine people, genuine music!
KITCHEN'S FLOOR (Bris). Shit a brick these guys can write some tunes! Guitarist Matt Kennedy was also the man behind the also excellent band Look!Pond. No frills lo-fi guitar, bass and drums pop songs. Great mix of potential pop hits, weirdo eastern-y sounding guitar bits and big-small-town teen awkwardness. Sounds exactly like Brisbane. Would probably fit in with your modern day Siltbreeze stuff or Urinals style crud-rock pretty nicely... or maybe like Nirvana or something. Launching his debut album ''Loneliness Is A Dirty Matress''.
WASTED TRUTH (Melb). If you've got a massive boner for the darker, weirder, heavier side of US hardcore and the forgotten outsider stuff that happened between hardcore and ''the year that punk broke'' Wasted Truth are for you. A real Flipper, No Trend, Drunks With Guns, Flux of Pink Indians, Gordons, Germs cult kind of vibe going on. Sean William Bailey (aka Lakes) on the bass and Harriet Kate Morgan on the drums (the most intense drummer).

EVERYONE BETTER COME OR BEN WILL BASH YOU...

This is fucking ridiculous and I hate you for doing all this shit on the same weekend.
I'm assuming fliegende hollander will be present at one or all of these shows?
I wanna hit him up for that GoTV cassette he was going to send me
Is the playing order determined yet? I don't wanna miss anyone but I may not be able to make it until 7pm or something.
I think it'll go in the order listed on the fb event / wild weekend poster starting about 6.30?
wow, fancy things proceeding as advertised!
I might have to abandon my straight-edge lifestyle to keep up with the awesomeness of this weekend.
It's gonna be a bit rough with $10 jugs at Glengarry and BYO at Maggotville.
Very excited for Blank Realm.
From their myspace:
Everyone's gonna spew this weekend!
P.S. Wasted Truth, Pee Wee, The Mentally Unstable @ Repressed Records in a couple of hours. Come or you're mental. Don't spew in the shop.
Matt Kennedy is the most significant human since Hans Christian Ørsted
Man, Wasted Troof are always in Sydney. Need some Wasted Troof right now.
The Kitchen's Floor album is sweet as.
that photo of ben is amazing! so are these shows can't wait!!!
Today. Stop watching Recovery with yer Coco Pops or whatever and come get schooled!
GLENGARRY IN A COUPLE OF HOURS. CORNER OF ABERCROMBIE AND LAWSON STREET REDFERN. 3 MIN WALK FROM REDFERN STATION, COME ROCK THE BLOCK WITH BED WETTIN' BAD BOYS, KITCHEN'S FLOOR AND ROYAL HEADACHE.
Glengerry gig lasted about two songs?
Turned into a backyard show on wilson stm
Good times.
Wha' happened?
backyard show was the cumulative achievement of our times.
heading to maggotville ina bit but don't expect for it to match this arvo
the dude running the pub hated it, so it was over.
ended up being for the best, backyard show was great (though i didn't stick around after royal headache, got other shit on)
Kitchen's Floor!
I've only listened to their album a couple of times but when I saw them tonight it was like they were my old favourites. They ring, goddamn what a band.
kitchen's floor, fuckin great. notv are the best fucking thing ever now
I had to leave before NOTV. Shitty form but I've seen them heaps lately.
Wasted Truth were awesome. Got a bit of a man crush on Sean Bailey.
i've seen notv a bunch lately too and i was going to leave but when they started playing that first song i had to stay
I left before NoTV as well. But holy shit Ghosts of TV. Why would you ever stop playing?
i just love everyone
the only downfall was whatever speaker the vocals were running through. It was muddy as all hell during GoTV.
great turn out. thank you very much to everyone who came!
Shit aye, all three of these shows have been beyond awesome. Blank Realm are playing in 5 piece mode this arvo with the addition of egyptian death rock guitarist Harriet Hudson. If you haven't caught them or Blank Realm this weekend definitely come down. I'm gonna cover GG's ''don't talk to me'' on the dual synthesizers, it'll probably suckkk.

top top weekend of music

The CD-R Blank Realm were selling at the Maggotville show is pretty good. They've gone completely (kraut) rock now.
Hi mr sisters! x
Blank Realm were so so good at Locksmith, bought that CD-R and am listening as I type.
Were they much different at Locksmith? Apparently there was a fifth member.
I wasn't completely blown away by their set at mgtvle, was a lot more straightforward and dry than I expected. It was still fun though.
I missed them at mgtvle so I cannae say, but there was a 5th member at Locksmith (Harriet Hudson, I'm not sure who that is though) and somebody flicked the lights off and everybody got all dancey in the dark. Fliegende Hollander filmed it I think so hopefully it will surface.
i can't believe it took me that longto see ghosts of tv. they was
purchased the kitchen's floor CD and lakes 7''; former is one of the best things i've heard all year.
^they was awesome, i'm retarded
Everyone is gonna go apeshit when they hear that Kitchen's Floor album.
This is one of only three or four photos I took that came out.
Kitchen's Floor
Dunno how nic.rulz managed to stay out of the frame for that one! :)
didn't mind kitchen's floor when i saw em on the sat, will need to check out recorded material.
The album is only $12 at Repressed. bargain.
fuckin' shit balls, so much amazing music, sun's shining + how good is it be alive???
kitchen's floor album is too fucking good. i feel like buying a copy for everyone i know!
Kitchen's Floor on portable stereo + Sunny day + beer in the park = my forthcoming Saturday afternoon if this weather persists
kitchen's floor - ''failure'' - grooviest song EVER, might even be the best song of that title too
but seriously this weekend was so musically rejuvenating on every level, kudos to everyone responsible. might have to start a band soon
Topsoil was a highlight in GoTVs set. Nice to hear Hezbollah as well. Anyone pick up the tape? It's fucken awesome.
new 'regrets' film clip from kitchen's floor
where does he get these lyrics from? genius
