He's my least favourite Beast.

__v  said about 2 years ago:

if he doesn't play fuck your dad then it isn't a best of tour

VoxFuzz  said about 2 years ago:

Short set.

Totally!

Something from the Butcher Shop or Salamander Jim catalogue too...

pollypix  said about 2 years ago:

Beasts is nothing without Tex.

metalslutz  said about 2 years ago:

I'm going, can't wait. Agree with you too, Pollypix!

pollypix  said about 2 years ago:

Short set? The set is two hours long.

VoxFuzz  said about 2 years ago:

What colour medal do you get for 5th place?

LaxCharisma  said about 2 years ago:

Imagine how good a Kim Salmon ''best of'' tour would be.

VoxFuzz  said about 2 years ago:

Subjective tour title then, Polly.

LaxCharisma  said about 2 years ago:

Maybe. That being said I enjoy Spencer P. Jones, Brian Henry Hooper, Kim Salmon albums a lot more than anything Tex does on his own.

That could be the best thing in the history of the universe, __v.

looch  said about 2 years ago:

Hey Polly - has Tex's health improved since that Snowy Mountains festival ?

pollypix  said about 2 years ago:

I love Kim Salmon stuff. Have seen a few Escape Commitee gigs, but Spencer's more than often too fucked to perform.

LaxCharisma  said about 2 years ago:

Some of these are his best performances...mind you I don't get to see him as often as you Melbourne folk (I assume you are Melbourne folk).

I've enjoyed the few Brian Henry Hooper gigs I've seen too. His solo albums are fantastic.

That was one of the only reasons I did...Ohh and I'd never seen Midnight Oil live before.

CaptainFez  said about 2 years ago:

am i the only one who prefers listening to the cruel sea over beasts?

For an extended period, no. Beasts are great and all, but their cack:good ratio wears thin the more you listen. I don't get that so much with Cruel Sea.

Wave Aid set was great, except that half the crowd was watching some cunce play cricket up the back of the pitch...

LaxCharisma  said about 2 years ago:

Yeah...I do recall that cricket match. I hate sport. I'm ignoring the Beasts comment. Thats just me though. Now that I think about it maybe Beasts listeners are the minority, I mean Cruel Sea DID have the hit didn't they.

Ron  said about 2 years ago:

LaxCharisma said 1 hour ago: Yeah I couldn't find it either Ron. The story behind ''Pearls Before Swine'' is pretty funny though.

That is it.

CaptainFez  said about 2 years ago:

Well, I'm more a 'Chase the Dragon' guy than a 'The Honeymoon is Over' guy, but I just find that there's more duds in their library than awesomes, that's all.

I prefer Gentle Ben's version of Execution Day, tbh.

LaxCharisma  said about 2 years ago:

I prefer Spencer P's version to Beasts.

Never heard Gentle Ben do it.

Actually don't think I've seen Gentle Ben yet.

He should just get the Dum Dums back together. Second best version of Ring Of Fire ever.

Hey, I've got 2 tickets for sale for tonight's Melbourne gig at the Prince of Wales. Can't go because of a family emergency.
$50 for both (I paid $66)
Can meet you at venue tonight to pick up tickets etc.
Any takers?
