about time. this album is the shit
this is true. one of the best albums i have heard in a long long time..
Because i really wanted to hear it i downloaded the new Ty Segall album from itunes. This was the first time i have purchased an album in mp3 format..It's really good but i feel mighty violated. I spent $17 and i don't have the record! I'm thinking this will be the last ''album'' i purchase from itunes. Guess i'll be ordering it from goner this week (probably will be cheaper too!)

so went a bit crazy obviously when i was on holiday in the US. Some great records stores over there especially Amoeba records in San Francisco. I was amazed to pick up a copy of Lumpy Gravy for $5 at Amoeba in Hollywood. I was contemplating buying that record for $50 here in Australia.
Nice work on the Disco Inferno. Would love to own some of their stuff on CD.
How much did that Future Days set you back, DJB?
that mayo thompson record is shitthott. good haul.
It's a vinyl reissue of Future Days and it cost US$20
Vinyl is so much more ridiculously cheaper in the states. I always come home with a mountain if vinyl that would have normally cost me 5 times as much. Having said that this week back home I bought -
Aphrodite's Child - 666.
Steve Hillage - Motivation Radio and Green
Equal Local - 12 Ways To Go
The Associates - Sulk
Angelo Branduardi - 1974
Space Art - S/T, Trip In The Centre Head and Play Back
Flo and Eddie - Moving Targets
Meredith Monk - Turtle Dreams
Essendon Airport - Palimpsest
...amongst others. Being going a bit nuts.
Where did you get the Palimpsest LP?
Licorice Pie. Been after it for so long. Paid way too much. But it is mint with the printed cover and innocent records insert.
Vinyl what arrived in the post this week:
Peaking Lights - Imaginary Falcons
Madvillain - Madvillainy
J Dilla - Ruff Draft
Shaun: The two 'big' Disco Inferno albums aren't that hard to find on CD. Even Fishpond has them. Brilliant, brilliant stuff.
Cool 70's French duo- Daft Punk before its time. When I went back home (to France) in January I brought back a heap Space Art stuff (7'' & LPs). Love this band. I got sucked in by one of their singles where they proclaimed themselves to be ''le premier groupe de vulgarisation scientifique'' (the first scientific vulgarisation band). Very funny. How much did you pay for it?
Also, 666 is a killer prog record!
Hey bigstar. I got the 3 Space Art LPs on ebay. Different sellers and prices. All between around $10 and $30 AUD. I love them. You're probably the only other person I know who has heard of them. Are you French? And yeah 666 is fricken awesome. Four Horseman!

Finally go this on vinyl.
And the new Beaches 7'' which I'm yet to listen to.
Which version, black/green or black/white cover?
Its the black/white front sleeve
That's the second version, made when band members moved from Perth to Sydney.
Was that band already dead by the time some of them moved to the east?
I believe so.
IIRC, the vinyl for the Sydney version was from the same pressing, with a new label pasted over the original (I'd have to double-check my copies to confirm). The guy who released the first version used to sell 'em for a buck a pop at Perth record fairs in the '90s.
I was under the impression that $1 was the going rate for any record sold in Perth during the 90s
Spring Rain - that album is amazing. Made by kids in a musical workshop - fucking mind blowing.
that it is. dude at northside played it for me and it only took one track and i was sold. it's such a great sound. love the messy percussion
oh are you the dude at northside? what a great shop. i see myself spending too much time and money there
hey JRB, wots the Madlib record like?
Look forward to hearing those records on the radio jrb.
Pretty darn good actually. Some of it is kinda dated but on the whole it holds up pretty well.
And I look forward to playing them. I still sometimes surprise myself with the stuff I can get away with.
Constant Mongrel - New tape
Nothing People - Anonymous LP
V/A - Our Boy Roy (Roy Orbison Tribute) LP
another op shop run of bugger all
come on farts, hurry up and die and get ya family to leave ya rekkids to the vinnies please
