haha locky...

i was safely situated in the balcony seating. no helicopter moves for me, i'm afraid.

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

ISIS were fucking incredible. My ears are still ringing.

I liked TAAS musically.. but yeah.. as far as front man goes... not so sure.. when he jumped into the audience, he was sitting on the rail right next to me, and I had to lean away so as not to be covered in his spit and drool

have you ever seen a singer drool so much!?

adamdmills  said about 5 years ago:

no, i have not, mcgauz.

at one point in sydney, there was so much drool i actually thought he'd thrown up.

the power of 666  said about 5 years ago:

How did I miss this?

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

yeah.. he looked like he was so fucked up on booze and pills or whatever that he was continually having these little hurls of clear liquid.. and he kept spitting everywhere.. was fucking awful.
I had never heard TAAS before this show, so I was watching with a bemused indifference. There was entertainment value though... some of the guitar riffs were killer. I'd like to hear something on record, just so I don't have the visual of the singer right in front of me undoing his belt buckle.

only time I've regretted being front and centre at any show

JBR  said about 5 years ago:

you were asleep.

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

so it was a dream?

musically TAAS did it for me.. just the singer.. but singers always take time to grow on me. I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy them.

After the agony of the blackout at the Hi Fi ISIS were definitely worth the wait

cul_de_sac  said about 5 years ago:

If anything the blackout made ISIS better. Possibly due to increased substance injestion while filling in time. Either way they were amazing.

cul_de_sac  said about 5 years ago:

Incidentally, does anyone know what the setlist for ISIS last night was?

fourteennightsatsea  said about 5 years ago:

Great show last night. Laura were unbelievable, TAAS were good (but the frontman was a bit of a tosser), and ISIS were absolutely amazing. The blackout was annoying, but in the grand scheme of things I think it added to the night. And the crowd was really well behaved during that period.

knomadix  said about 5 years ago:

TAAS were good (but the frontman was a bit of a tosser),

after seeing footage on youtube.. I had second thoughts about wanting to see them.

fourteennightsatsea  said about 5 years ago:

He may be a really nice guy in really life, but what I saw onstage wasn't that endearing. Just didn't really suit the mood of the night.

Brendan  said about 5 years ago:

The TAAS singer was pretty sassy, but had hints of Blood Brothers, Refused and At The Drive In showmanship in him, which sure beats the monotony of Laura. The band were builing to something really good, then the power went out. Still my favourite band of the night though.

hwct  said about 5 years ago:

i've seen load sof live footage of TAAS and the singers never come off like he did at the hi fi. no major gripes reallly, was just weird. I enjoyed dthe songs they played though. been wanting to see em for ages. ISIS killed.

miss katie  said about 5 years ago:

I went along to Isis because my housemate loves them, and his brother had a ticket but decided not to go because he's a pussy (he he tj) so I went along instead. What a great gig. I do believe I enjoyed myself more than at the Music Bowl for Tool. Probabaly because I was saturated in the power of their sound. My ears were just about bleeding when I left. But in a good way. Very satisfying. Thumbs up from miss katie.

LockingPlier  said about 5 years ago:

The TAAS singers antics sound entertaining.

miss katie  said about 5 years ago:

Oh, I need to say congrats to Laura for a wicked show. They sounded really good. The Hi Fi did them justice.

CaptainFez  said about 5 years ago:

Hmm. I thought that seeing Isis live robbed some of the tunes of the mystery they have on album. For me, that's part of the appeal - seeing a bunch of dudes playing it seemed a bit... I dunno, anticlimactic?

I think they're a better album band. Live, they sounded great... just not any different from the album, which I erroneously thought might be the case.

TAAS were the pick of the night for me.

cul_de_sac  said about 5 years ago:

Was anyone else surprised by how well behaved the crowd was when the power went out? It never really got beyond restlessness and agitation. Even the yelling out was minimal.

I blame that damn clock incidentally.

anok  said about 4 years ago:

listening to celestial and remembering why i once liked this band. hmm.
