shaun  said about 2 years ago:

It annoyed me, it was clanky,
it was bullshit, it was wanky
They predominantly stanky
The chrome dome family.

Since you've put it in a little poem, I'm satisfied with this response! :)

postergirl  said about 2 years ago:

Yes, Spitfire Parade got my toes tapping.

Modi  said about 2 years ago:

Ripping off TV themesongs is a skill of mine.

But yeah, if I wanted to put the archetypal art student electro/punk band in a film, I would definitely go looking for Chrome Dome. As performance art, it may have some relevance, as music, it made good comedy.

SGH  said about 2 years ago:

Huge amount of love for everyone who came, was a fantastic night. Took all of Sunday and this morning to get over it.

The EP is up for streaming here: http://www.last.fm/music/Spitfire+Parade/Time+Forward

Give me a shout if you'd like to get hold of one!

kandos  said about 2 years ago:

stayed for 6 spitfire parade songs, all of them good. i like when you're really wearing your wire influence on yer sleeves, SGH.

beer, general lack of sleep and chrome dome had me heading home early, i'm afraid. whatever hype there is for this band was unjustified if their set was any true indicator of their potential as a band. i really have to agree with modi here. tuneless vocals over tuneless synth lines does not necessarily equal a good band. the songs are monotonous in the extreme. the variation throughout the set was negligible.

i'm not saying these things to be cruel. i'm saying that, as a fan of music that judiciously uses repetition, theirs was anything but judicious. i know they're young. points for trying. keep trying. just not in front of me at the moment.

EC vs S

lamebogiini  said about 2 years ago:

wow..haha..er.

genius vocals of zombie like quality over sparse early atari monotonous synths with crazy kooky drum machine doing double kick with the whole back from the 80's quality of the dual vocal especially on the live version of 'negative vibes' on the myspace, had me listening 3 times. loved it. loved it's zombie qualitys and B52's like female/male dual vocals being twisted in a death spiral like music from a bar in 'escape from new york'. I dig. lyrically huge in scope too. and catchy whether you wanna come at it from a serious art wank place or simply from a wobble to maniac music place. . I'm in.

lamebogiini  said about 2 years ago:

also while I'm ranting..I hear all the stuff I love from Syd Barrett and Rick Wright at the piper at the gates of dawn early floyd era especially on the myspace track 'I can't see her' which has shit like sounds from piper of things like Pow R Tok h etc..really good guys...really really fucking great, psychadelic punk like it's spossed to be like the originals, but modern in it's repetition and ugly melody usage. very very impressed. good luck.

makeroom!makeroom!  said about 2 years ago:

Spitfire Parade are hilarious.

moke  said about 2 years ago:

No, Spitfire Parade are superb.

lamebogiini  said about 2 years ago:

can't comment on spitfire parade, maybe they are a fun time band? but maybe they are good? but I am impressed with chrome dome. as my ramblings of last night attest to. why am I replying to this guys obviously inbred comment? oh yeah because I am so impressed and by shauns write up I thought I'd bump this shit and suport some dudes doing some good work and being shouted down by idiots.

malice  said about 2 years ago:

Have you seen Chrome Dome live, lamebogiini?

equilabrista  said about 2 years ago:

malice, have you seen any live gigs that aren't wanky commercial same-same chairmen of the bored shit? Have you been to the one chrome dome gig and justify your narrow minded comments on that?

I'm with you Lamebogilini... it is getting shouted down by idiots. Clearly spitfire chose the wrong support band for their fans. If you hate it so much you could've left morons!

equilabrista  said about 2 years ago:

ps.. who calls themselves judy dick slap???
WTH??

8==> ~ ~

malice  said about 2 years ago:

Is it past your bed time, equilabrista?

Blue Star  said about 2 years ago:

malice - no never seen em, but the live recording sounded ok. it's the vibe I guess, either one is into it or isn't. Like I told a friend and he won't even speak to me about em. hahaha...some people like some stuff and some people like other stuff. I dug, and you know big deal really..I understand modi and Kandos and others not liking them. People just aren't on that wavelength or in the mood etc. Sometimes even in similar genres people just think oh no delivery isn't my taste etc. So really its just opinion. Maybe the vibe is fitting at the moment. I dunno. Maybe it's what's going don in town right now, maybe it isn't maybe it is for some, people relate to music for all sorts of personal reasons.

malice  said about 2 years ago:

Man, this thread got trollariffic, didn't it?

Blue Star  said about 2 years ago:

haha, I'm the same dude who commented under the above username lamebogiini. peace.
