My friend keeps yelling about Nite Jewel.
I should probably check them out.
new track on a forthcoming Alberts Basement tape. Serious.
Anyone know of any touring plans to melbourne?
I love them!
Haven't been able to stop listening to Nite Jewel recently. So good.
they have a gazillion shows coming up, but none in oceania, sadly...
song on the Milky Disco 2 compilation is sweet! definitely gonna check out more.
blinks
how did aB make this happen?
It's lovely stuff, IDIB is pretty much a flawless label. Looking forward to that Albert's Basement comp!
new single out this week on idib (here).
thankfully she's cleaned up her production a little. the overtly lo-fi sound was a wee bit frustrating.
You're just saying that because you love deep house!
ah yes, the production values of deephouse warrants a good chin stroke.
i suppose the low-fi hiss that nite jewel has in her tracks is the tape equivalent to the canned vinyl crackle that jonny jewel adds to all his tracks.
funny, I really like the hissy sounds of her home recorded stuff on MP3, but I got 'What Did He Say' 12 inch on IDIB and admittedly the hiss sound is much more enhanced on vinyl...
'want you back' is gorgeous. like she's channeling arthur russell in parts.
an arthur russell + chris and cosy collaboration.
hey anok where did you pick up the 12'' from? i used buy to idib stuff from hearnow records in the city (i'm assuming you're in Melbourne) but they've shut down. i’m not sure now what non-internet record stores stock this label.
slsk, but I'll buy it from the Internet later. no idea where to shop post-hn
i'm fairly sure there isn't anywhere now...

this show was really fun. way more material from good evening than expected (probably more than from OSOL), though this was the third time i've seen her and still no sign of artificial intelligence or lover:~(
sound was balls, but the crowd was a good size, so it wasn't too packed and people were pretty into it. was a somewhat amusing mix of melodic genius and kinda loose/sloppy playing
glad i went. nice one mistletone!
Glad I got to see her at Laneway and Workers. Band sounds super tight. Who is the bassist? Looks super familiar.

no ''clive'' ?! i'm not regretting missing it so much now
i swear they did play ''clive''.
maybe ramona played ''clive'' solo while they were switching out some busted gear? my memory is awful.
dang. love that song.
Yep and it was beautiful. I didn't realise how much I liked it until then.
