good band!
shapes of venus or blood on jupiter?
i like both.
Yes I really dug 'em about 2001-03, bigtime. Haven't listened to them in a while though. They broke up a couple of years ago, members are in the Human Eye (fucked up jazz-damage punk noize) and the Valentinos (Bryan Ferry obsessed new wave/pop) -- pretty much the two sides of the Cloney D's taken to extremes.
Did I foist Shapes of Venus on you one day when you came down to Corduroy, Hetero? Good album. The singles are great too, particularly Bottled Women. And The Clone Defects is one of the best band names I know of.
hey Rigid, I think you may have onto Adam (Specimen)...it's really fuckin' good album. I'm loving it.
Blood on Jupiter I think...the production is great.
Daiz, do you have it in stock at Trash?
Yeah that's right, I remember him looking a little scared by the look of it and by my fevered description. Good times.
Ahh, he was a wee midget back then
currently we gots blood on jupiter on cd only.
Cd, mmmm.
I still dont mind CD's
I'm with Rigid, thought these guys were the 2nd coming a few years ago.
So are they still around Cuba?
No, I think Rigid posted it, they broke up and a few of them formed Human Eye, which is also on In The Red, kinda Chrome, art-punk-jazz madness. It's great!
Liked Blood On Jupiter a lot but never heard Shapes Of Venus. Was it as good?
Cool! I like the production, cool songs, etc
I think Shapes of Venus is the better album.
One thign I'll always think the White Stripes did that was cool was take these guys out as supports on one of their first tours when they went huge. I woulda loved to see how they went down with yer average WS fan.
I've been hammering Shape of Venus all week. It's such a good album.I have never heard Blood on Jupiter but i'm keen to track it down. There is a new Human Eye record out next month. Can't wait. The last one is amazing. There should be way more Tim Vulgar love here!
