Now Pub Crawling on THURSDAY!

tuner  said about 3 years ago  or at  10:58AM on Friday, March 27 2009 in chat

After many a Tuesday hangover, it has been decided by Team Pub Crawl to move to Thursday nights, in the hope that a Friday hangover will be somewhat more bearable.

After the maiden Thursday show last night, it seems that all is well on the day of Fry, so to Thursdays we go!

It's already a very exciting year in the Pub Crawl camp, with interviews already notched up with Ben Lee and Augie March (podcasts up soon). But the excitement doesn't end there, because coming up we have Darren Hanlon, Steve Kilbey from The Church and Chris Moller from Midget!

Not only that - but over the next couple of months, Pub Crawl is endeavouring to be brought to you from a real pub! Yup, live broadcasts from a pub every week. It's either going to be hilarious, or disastrous. Should be an interesting listen either way.

AND - you can finally listen to it all, as the live webstream is back!

HAPPY FUN TIMES PEOPLE!

TuneFM

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

TuneFm did a simulcast of Grinspoon's first gig in Armidale in 1996. They were supporting Nitocris. True story.

tuner  said about 1 year ago:

Really? We can't this time, poo!

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

As I was at the gig at the time I have no idea how it sounded on air. You'd think somebody would have taped it, but who knows where that ended up?

You should just bootleg it and play it the next day, licensing be damned!

tuner  said about 1 year ago:

They'll never know!

We won't have them live on air, but hopefully we'll be able to get The Snowdroppers. We'll also definitely have Tom Stone & the Soldiers of Fortune playing live on air that afternoon! As well as the first ever 2UNE broadcast from 40 years ago!

Looking forward to it.

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

As well as the first ever 2UNE broadcast from 40 years ago!

The Rascals doing an instrumental version of *Good lovin'. :)

tuner  said about 1 year ago:

Is that on it? I haven't heard it yet!

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

That's the lead-in music.
I played it at the 30th anniversary. :)

tuner  said about 1 year ago:

Awww, we haven't found any archive material from the 30th! We've found some from the 10th and 15th though!

noneabove  said about 1 year ago:

I think the 30th mostly involved me playing the tape and applauding our greatness and then getting on with whatever show I was doing at the time. But I could be wrong.

I got in quite a heated argument when I was at 4ZzZ about 'the oldest community station' in Australia, which they like to pretend they are. But they're five years behind, and don't take kindly to being told about it.

tuner  said about 1 year ago:

Ha! A few people thought PBS was as well, but we've got 10 years on them. Good old Tune, still going strong.
