the new cheater slicks lp is great, so is the eat skull/ganglians split...and err..i got nothing.

<-- my avatar.

this response will either be brilliant as i update my avatar with each awesome album i come across.

or it'll age badly when i give up on the concept and go back to some other random rubbish.

spruik  said about 3 years ago:

solar bridge by emeralds is also pretty rad. but that's last year.
the tim hecker release with aidan baker is good also - fantasma parastasie

trafficsounds  said about 3 years ago:

the aidan baker/tim hecker thing came out last year too spruik. it is good but.

astrousersasmind  said about 3 years ago:

I assume you mean BESIDES Animal Collective.

I'm loving the new Crayon Fields, the hint of the new Phoenix album is totally addictive and I second the Akron/Family album. Totally mad. The new Bedroom Philosopher album is rad too.

Earl Brutus  said about 3 years ago:

band called warpaint's first ep has been playing non stop on my ipod .starts out with some simple guitar, then the loveliest of voices repeats 'B I L L I EH OL ID A Y'. ; Then they segue into quite the nicest & sad-sounding cover of the Mary Wells hit - My Guy

JunkiePhil  said about 3 years ago:

I've been enjoying sonny & the sunsets a lot too. It reminds me a bit of Greg Ashley

trafficsounds  said about 2 years ago:

i'm all about javelin these days. anok might like it. psyclops would but i'm sure he's onto it already

anok  said about 2 years ago:

saw em in boston w the very best & many mansions. kinda mega daggy despite the hipster love they're getting. was fun. got the 12'' and one of their mix CDs which is great! they're all about the thrift store vinyl bins. the mixes are just a rad mess of cut up vinyl weirdness and fun. friendly guys too.

trafficsounds  said about 2 years ago:

oh that's right. i forgot you mentioned that on some other social networking timewaster. what's the mix cd? i was listening to their andean ocean mixtape when i declared my fondness for them up top.

anok  said about 2 years ago:

it has that and something else on it. i forget the title right now. i think they're both available on their website?

anok  said about 2 years ago:

yep!

my ela orleans (a recent 20jfg posting) vinyl arrived yesterday and it's really well-crafted dark 'n dreamy, loop-driven weirdness. definitely deserves folks attention. she's from poland, living in brooklyn. has collabed with kevin shea (that amazing storm & stress drummer), amongst others.

pking  said about 2 years ago:

been enjoying this more then the recent lindstrom and prins thomas lp

pking  said about 2 years ago:

that'd be world midi classics vol 2 then

downloads... listens

thats the most off-the-wall mix i've heard in ages.

anok  said about 2 years ago:

i think my favourite prinsy thing (ever) is his contribution to the 45:33 remixes.

pking  said about 2 years ago:

2009 has definitely been the year of the prins thomas remix. i loved his doves - kingdom of rust remix.

anok  said about 2 years ago:

new hot chip single is kinda nice. can't wait for that record, mostly to hear alley cats again.

runaredlight!  said about 2 years ago:

I havn't really tried to sort through all the posts so it could very well have been spoken of already, alas, what are your favourite hip hop/rap albums of 2009? I'm looking for some more to download.

My favourites are:

Raekwons new album
Clipses new album
&
Jay-Z's new album believe it or not.

alec m  said about 1 year ago:

this might have be good if it wasn't so drenched in 'dreamy' reverb. haven't heard much good new music lately.....

anok  said about 1 year ago:

wrong thread broey.

electricsound  said about 1 year ago:

the previous lights album was pretty lame in a boring sub-espers way so the newie would have to be a huge step forward
