Best Online Record Shops

nahsteck  said about 3 years ago  or at  12:07PM on Friday, February 20 2009 in music

Just set up my PayPal and need to piss away some moneys.

Where is good for Australian DIY stuff? Is there a kind've one stop co-op thing?

Basically anywhere but Amazon... inside Australian borders would be helpful too.

Side question: has ReR Megacorp hinted at Vinyl re-releases for This Heat?

Waterfront?

shaun  said about 3 years ago:

for DIY stuff, you're better off visiting the band's myspace and they'll normally sell it to you direct. there's no store where you can get everything ala Volcanic Tongue, though Sound&Fury may turn out to be like that once everyone is on board.

djbollocks  said about 3 years ago:

I think it's unlikely that ReR Megacorp will do vinyl reissues of This Heat's albums.

Did they close? Goodbye permanent 10% off everything discount codes.

trafficsounds  said about 2 years ago:

hmm i reckon insound's been hacked. i was there earlier today and it was working fine.

national_highway_31  said about 2 years ago:

Speaking of online stores,,, browsing the Forced Exposure catalog could be a full time profession. Heaps better than the ''good old days'' when you had to send away IRCs and wait months for a catalogue to come.

nishiki  said about 2 years ago:

hellz - i'm almost glad i have no money right now otherwise i'd be spending any spare cash i had there. having said that, i'm praying as hard as i possibly can that the new autechre lp still in stock there doesn't sell out before i get a chance at it

nishiki  said about 2 years ago:

also for any canberrans reefer records is top notch.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

Self promotion is about as pretty as public masturbation. The only real difference being once the binary spunk has splurted onto the tcp/ip, it leaves an open port.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

Oh that was for Mr Tripp btw.

I'm going to enjoy their free releases for a while nishiki, then maybe splurge. I'm yet to hear the new Autechre, worthy I guess?

nishiki  said about 2 years ago:

worthy from sources i trust. should probably download it from boomkat first before splurge though.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

Always something good from Crucial Blast.

hey, what is the best online record shop for UK twee/indie stuff?
I am going to almost all the Saint Etienne stuff, is RecordStore.co.uk anygood?

tugboat  said about 9 months ago:

going to (get)...

NotMorrissey  said about 9 months ago:

Geez, fuck giving away a secret like that! How would I horde as much shit?

tugboat  said about 9 months ago:

Bump

NotMorrissey  said about 9 months ago:

I used to buy tonnes of stuff off secondspin.com.

nishiki  said about 8 months ago:

Has anyone bought anything from 14tracks.com? It's an offshoot of boomkat, and the product is essentially mixtapes that you pay for. Interesting/terrible idea? I can't think of many other places specialising in such a thing. Have purchased a few already and they're fairly good value.

Oh, and before you ask why the hell I would pay for something I could get for free -- I'm trying to 'download' stuff less because it makes me feel like a loathsome human.

tugboat  said 20 days ago:

http://www.actionrecords.co.uk is pretty good :-)
