Our helpdesk is run from KL. It's ok. Hard to check status of anything though. Too much waiting on hold and emailing.

They're about to make our Accounts Payable redundant. 50 positions being moved offshore to KL. Sure, it'll be cheaper in the long run - but it's going to make following up accounts business more difficult. Checking status of purchase orders and invoices, the whole process needs to be modified to account for the move. 700 vendors will have to redirect their invoices. 6,000 invoices being sent to KL instead of our local melbourne office. Makes a lot of room for error.

Poor Ruby and Bev in accounts. They've been here for 30 years and they're only being offered a small redundancy package. What a bunch of cocksuckers.

Cocksuckers Tokes. Goddamn. How will anyone get paid on time... fucking big wig corporate cunt heads and their sell out bullshit.

audiowhore  said about 5 years ago:

Totally. It'll just make the process longer, which means we'll get yelled at more by vendors because the corporate cunce still make the business agreements with small terms of payment dates.

Let's go back to paper invoices, i say.

its such a load of shit. i guess i cant say anything yet, but there is some media release tomorrow, i think.

"we are being honest with you" BLAH BLAH BLAH......by telling you THE DAY BEFORE the media. get your hand off it.

audiowhore  said about 5 years ago:

post your correspondence, pops!

poprocks96  said about 5 years ago:

they are trying to say only 100 hundred jobs are being looked at. how do they envisage financial benefits from moving one hundred jobs. load of shit.

fr3ky  said about 5 years ago:

pricks the lot of them. think of those kl workers too, they get paid shite all and their workign conditions are so intensely scrutinised that its like walking on glass for them.
I shut a shop like that down this year and i stopped another from starting up (all legally, i'm no militant hippy).
The dickhead who emplyed me sent me on a se asia tour to try to start offshore processing (re 50-75 jobs). Literally broke my heart meeting some of the people there and how we with the mightier dollar manipulate them just to be able to eat at a better cafe at lunch, and then thinkning of the people who might lose their jobs over here. grrrr!

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

um well i suppose, cheaper labour, cheaper tax, cheaper rent and other overheads.......

poprocks96  said about 5 years ago:

for one hundred people ? come off it.

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

100 x average of 45K for wages, say $100,000 pa for rent + 9% super + overheads of $500K pa= $5,505,000

I'd move

audiowhore  said about 5 years ago:

15 Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) = 0.28996 Australian Dollar (AUD)

poprocks96  said about 5 years ago:

rent will not change as people will still be on this floor of the building....

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

okay then $5,405,000

fr3ky  said about 5 years ago:

sure they'd save money, but to what end? getting rid of people who built the company? shit hollow capitalist money hording right there

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

$5.5M a year? there is no company loyalty of employees these days anyway, we are all expected to change career at least 7 times. making more money creates more business expansion opportunities elsewhere = jobs.

devils advocate here

poprocks96  said about 5 years ago:

i dont understand how a job which is quite specific to australia can be moved overseas. how can you put a saving of $5million (according to ohyeah) against the risk of an increase in fraud ? who the fuck would move thier fraud dept overseas ? no other financial institution ahs done it. seems stupid.

kabukiboy  said about 5 years ago:

look at it as the decline of the capitalist system - it could be a good thing (tho not in our lifetime)

Barman  said about 5 years ago:

I'm happy to be moved to Bermuda or the Maldives.

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

oh i'd be happy to move to NY.

short sightedness Pops, hope you are not affected by it.
