Deaf Wish present DEAF CHRISTMAS at The Tote Hotel. A tear-inducing line-up purpose-built to provide a sanction for Melbourne’s orphans and runaways this Christmas. Deaf Wish launch new 7 inch on Stained Circles / Idget Child and video-only single on VHS cassette with very special friends including some very rare performances. The New Season play their fourth show in five years, Total Control (featuring members of Eddie Current Suppression Ring and Straightjacket Nation) play their only ever show to launch their debut 7 inch and The Focus come out of hibernation for what could be the last time. Wild banshee night-time criers Useless Children bring unrest and confusion whilst pride of the Gong The Pink Fits bring stomp at wife-swapping. And from Sunshine to Cheltenham for over 14 years- The Greasy Hawaiians featuring Tony Milillo and Pistol Pete Andrews deliver a lesson in surf guitar for the wasted youth. Also- barbecue, strange gifts and DJ Max Kohane. Doors at 8pm and a very sympathetic $12 on the door.

i dig the 7'' a lot.

bamesjaker  said about 3 years ago:

The Pink Fits (NSW) - 10.30-11pm
Greasy Hawaiians (Beer Garden) - 10-10.30pm

The way NSW is going these days, it's quite likely to be replaced by a more prosperous State called Beer Garden in the very near future.

anonymous  said about 3 years ago:

i'd vote em up.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 3 years ago:

That's a good interview by Tim Scott, by the way.

and that's not cool, is it kids

asthma  said about 3 years ago:

oi def wish are as gay as a pool party with sigfield and roy everyone knows it.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 3 years ago:

Awesome show! All the bands slayed it! Useless Children sounded bloody cool, especially the vocals. How good were Turtle Control? Answer: Very fucking!!! The Focus nice and angsty. Greasy Hawaiians were an inspired choice in the middle of the line-up. Brilliant vintage surf guitar tunes. Great to see New Season again, and Deaf Wish went totally sick nuts!

It was a bit of a shame that everybody was pressed for time, as there was only one stage for all the bands. What happened there, with Cobra being double booked?

FrankieTeardrop  said about 3 years ago:

Oh, and I missed Pink Fits because I was talking with Block.

bamesjaker  said about 3 years ago:

Pink Fits were so good I wanted to cry. Actually, I think I did cry.

Greasy Hawaiians were a surprise, and a great surprise at that.

And Deaf Wish ruled. Again.

oort  said about 3 years ago:

Didn't go to show but got the vhs, good amount of soft porn and st_nick's singing spectacular is sweet although could have done with some more of jensens home made karate video. After the video it had some Australian fishing show with that Angus guy from Recovery on it. Man up bamesjaker.

anonymous  said about 3 years ago:

can someone melbourne way get me a copy of the vhs please?

ill be yer buddy.

oort  said about 3 years ago:

It's on dvd too, that'ld be easier to copy

anonymous  said about 3 years ago:

that'll work.

StainedCircles  said about 3 years ago:

StainedCircles  said about 3 years ago:
