Nah, '94 was about Zombie.
There's a lot of my guilty pleasures in 1994...
I might play ''Girls and Boys'' Heb, but even that might be a bit obvious. Might give the rest of that list a miss though....
However, there'll be a nice helping of Morrissey!
ACE OF BASE!
Or not.
This looks great. I ended up sooking on my couch on Fri night, but I'll definitely come along to this one.
i reckon most of my fave music was released around this time. been giving that first elastica record a bit of a thrashing again lately...too good.
there's nothing wrong with girls and boys. ever. the end.
Agreed.
Please don't play Shampoo, they were fucking abysmal.
My Ace of Base knowledge is sadly lacking somewhat....
I can squeeze maybe 2 Elastica songs in this week. ''Connection'' and whatever the b-side of that was!
''Girls & Boys''....hmmm...not completely convinced....
I will never, ever, ever play Shampoo. They are the devil.
Perhaps best left that way, moke...
I think I liked ''All That She Wants'' by Ace of Base at the time, but I was 11 of 12, so my opinion at that age shouldn't count for much.
re: Elastica, ''stutter'' is a fucking great track.
fact: I saw Donna Matthews getting chucked out of a club in London.
She's another chick I'd totally turn lesbo for.
how about oz bands?
tumbleweed, you am i, custard, spiderbait...hell i can't think to list them all but there are heaps of great dancing tunes by oz bands. maybe more ryan's thing than nathan's...
Yeah, I struggled to find all that many Australian bands, but that's just my foolish ignorance. Ryan said he'd look after that!
Nick Cave was genius in 1994. I'll be playing lots of him, oh yes!
wise words, dickslap. love stutter.
was snout's night and day around this time? that song is killer.
Dunno, this is all I can find about Snout right now. Stupid work internet access....
Yeah, I totally loved snout. I remember standing in the pouring rain for several hours down the end of Greville St waiting for them to play during Chapel St festival when I was 14.
I was also going to suggest that you play some menswear, but 'nuisance' was released in 1995.
Johnny Dean was hot property before he got on the drugs.

those lumberjack shirts are just as hip now as they were in 94
I'm probably to late to get somthing from Polvo - Celebrate the New Dark Age played tonight plus it would be a sure dance floor killer
I found my other Stone Roses t-shirt. Not as cool as my homemade one, plus it's a bit small so it makes me look like I should be working at Hooters, but I'm wearing at anyway.
It was indeed a very good year. Thanks, folks.
1994 is still well and truly alive as far as I am concerned
Great work, kids. Pity I had to leave so early.
early absence noted. i hadn't even begun talking real shit yet. damn!
ouch. apologies to anyone and everyone. except beertickle as there is a slight possibility you disgraced yourself a little more than me.
Good times!
Just a teensy bit hung this morning as a result.
there was a pleasing amount of sloan.
Does anyone remember the band Urusei Yatsura? Their first album was released in 1994, but it's not as good as their second album.
I think the ''pleasing amount of Sloan'' might have been bordering on ''too much'' for those who aren't Sloan enthusiasts.
Roll on 1977, I say!
My ears have heard too much 1994 in the last week, but I did force myself to listen to everything I was potentially going to play about three times. There wasn't enough Manic Street Preachers for my liking.
I can not wait for 1977!
phasers on stun used to be one of my fave songs for a while, dickslap. can't remember which of their records it was from. i dread to think how many boxes of forgotten music i have at home.
didn't notice any manics. WIN! sloan of 1994 is the only good sloan. they were terrible before and after that. yeah, go on, fight me about it.
we are the pigs was my fave.
good night.
''We Are The Pigs'' was great! Not enough Suede for my liking either!
'Phasers On Stun is on 'We Are Urusei Yatsura', which is their second album. Great track, but I think 'Kewpies Like Watermelon' is my favourite on that record.
Also, major tick re: 'Can't Get Out Of Bed' by the Charlies. If only Timmy B had added this to the set list as the gig...
Yeah, I felt it would be appropriate to play it as they didn't, was also prompted by talk of certain death by Loki if I didn't.
Very wise move, moke. Very wise.
ah, i remember seeing kewpies like watermelon on rage and thinking that i had to get their record. got the second one also. will look through said boxes during christmas when i inevitably become bored at the parent's house.
i think initially i threated loki with violence if can't get out of bed wasn't played. it happens. thanks moke! there was more charlatans later on but memory is hazy.
