Hi i really liked this motorace song called siamese when I was a teen and i was wondering if anybody knows what this band is doing today, I mean the members literally are they working in the industry still or did they make enough money to retire or are they solo acts ec

FrankieTeardrop  said about 1 month ago:

They're probably still working in the industry... packing CDs in some warehouse.

Norther  said about 1 month ago:

is it true the singer posts on here? or at least used to?

gabbo  said about 1 month ago:

ha. i was thinking the same thing the other night.

''The individual members remain on amicable terms. Robertson now professionally scores for film and television, while Ong still occasionally performs around Melbourne with his Joni Lightning project. Costin continues to work in the music industry.

Motor Ace will be releasing a live DVD based on their final show. This will be out in late October 2008. Aside from the concert itself, the DVD will also feature backstage/behind the scenes footage and footage from their Japanese tour.'' - wiki

wiki to the rescue_Robertson)

postergirl  said about 1 month ago:

They broke up. Patrick now writes musical scores for film and TV. Dave Ong had the Joni Lightning project - not sure if that's still going. Damo has a management company. I'm not sure what Matt's doing.

turtle  said about 1 month ago:

sorry, this one_Robertson)

Norther  said about 1 month ago:

wow, it must be weird for them...i mean they were pretty successful locally, but im sure they had higher expectations of their music who in a commercially successful band doesnt right?

To go from being hot property to just like regular 9 to 5ers must be equally humbling and depressing.

no

VelvetDogge  said about 1 month ago:

i remember matt telling me about a meeting the record company called, where an executive asked them how they saw their image as a band. they said they didn't know, and he said ''we see you as a brooding rock band''.

Norther  said about 1 month ago:

how do you know this postergirl? I mean even if you personally knew the singer you wouldn't necessarily know..its not like people go around advertising their internet handles in real life situations.

why would you ask if you don't believe anyone knows?

postergirl  said about 1 month ago:

Patrick is my brother. He has never posted here, I can promise you.

Norther  said about 1 month ago:

Maybe I just want to believe, i mean I heard regurgitator used to post on here too. You when you are a kid adn you know santa is a phony but you just want to believe otherwise, same principle I guess.

Norther  said about 1 month ago:

OMG are you serious?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think if I post you my 5star laundry CD you can get him to sign it? I mean ill pay for the return postage as well? do you think the other members can sign it too? ill even throw in some movie tickets or something for your troubles if its true

postergirl  said about 1 month ago:

Yeah I'm serious.

I guess you can send me the CD. The logistics of getting the whole band to sign it might be difficult but I can get P to.

Inactivist  said about 1 month ago:

Postergirl win.

thenewmeatloaf  said about 1 month ago:

Modi  said about 1 month ago:

There were seriously only a couple of particularly negative comments about them on this thread, along with a bunch of relatively mild criticism.

And there's at least as much unwarranted praise for bands on here that don't deserve it as misdirected bile.

rigid  said about 1 month ago:

people have to learn to get used to negative comments being made about music and not take things personally. in person, on the internet, wherever, whenever. it's not rude, it's fun!

montyclift  said about 1 month ago:

forms naive punk band called 'misdirected bile'

Modi  said about 1 month ago:

Yeah, for example, if I said the Ooga Boogas were a bunch of washed up old has beens riding the coat tails of success of their youngest member, it would not only be funny, but accurate.

saucyjack  said about 1 month ago:

anyone remember Have A Nice Day? They were a great little band until they got Parisi-ed

I'm wracking my brain to think of a band that has benefited from being Parisi-ed

poprocks96  said about 1 month ago:

Gabriella Killme?

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

more to the point, what band has sounded the worst after being parisi-ed? were all mushroom acts of the 90's/00's signed by parisi?

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

wow michael parisi is also a pitcher for the stl louis cardinals

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

apparently michael parisi is also the name of a pitcher for the st louis cardinals.

Is that worse than being Gudinskied?

temporarybenbutler  said about 1 month ago:

Would Lash have been anything if they hadn't been Parisi'd? (And Palmered.)

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

they wouldn't have been much, but they sounded a lot different and better before the parisi treatment. i kinda think gyroscope have benefited from being parisied.

jimmy hutspah  said about 1 month ago:

timewaster  said about 1 month ago:

Hey Patrick from Motorace's sister.

Don't take the criticism personally. Nobody's attacking your character or your brother. They're just bagging out Motorace's music. They're not the first to do so, nor will they be the last.

My Motorace memory:

It was probably 2002. At the old Rob Roy, I said to Nic Cester, ''look, there's the dude from Motorace'. So Mr Cold Hard Bitch went up to Dave Ong and said hello. If only that momentary mangling of Jet and Motorace had led to a COLLABORATION, then Neil Wedd, Don Corleone Parisi and the music programmer at Sports Tonight would have been very happy.
