when i was about 10 (year 6?) i won a year long ice hockey training thing at macquarie ice rink - it was through a saturday morning tv show (maybe the marty monster one?). it included all the gear and lessons/training. about two weeks after i won, the ice rink changed owners and they didn't honour the prize.

Most memorable prize was a Britpop swag from Recovery that somewhat confusingly included a signed copy of The Pet Shop Boys' then-latest album.

i won a lego contest too. got invited back to the blacktown grand final. some little shit beat me, i came second. the winner got a trip to the national championship in melbourne :(

i came runner up in a regional yo-yo competition and scored a gold yoyo, several packs of strings, an electronic game, a coca cola bag, a 6 pack of coke and coke stickers, plus more stuff i forget.

I never made it to the grand final. It was in the city and something came up so my parents couldn't take me. Damn shame, but I still had some cool Lego from winning the Parramatta round so I wasn't too upset. I came equal first with a boy who later became a good friend of mine in high school.

I was getting weird calls on my mobile for about a week and thought some a-hole was pranking me. I eventually texted the number back after ignoring it and asked "do you actually want to speak to me?" and they replied "Yes, please call us on ......". So I called and funnily enough I'd won a TV and a DVD player.

Most recently, I won a pass to a hippy film festival... I didn't stay til the end, although the main doco was good, it was all about the girls in China that make the beads for Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
