attitude much willus?

dickheads

nicko_mcbrain  said about 3 years ago:

they're doing their job you fool.

i have no idea who wrote this - guessing one of my dickheads.

yep. real important and useful job they do.

anyway. i don't feel bad about this at all; there's no injustice - i didn't have a ticket, they were right to try to get info out of me. and it's my right as a curmudgeon who has an issue with the revenue-raising practices of certain PPPs to be as difficult as possible. why should i hide my utter disdain for their work if they are going to overlook my claimed defense/excuse for not having a ticket? if they want to eschew common decency/humanity, so too shall i.

mexicans666  said about 3 years ago:

Did they say ''we're placing under arrest''? or did they say, ''we have the right to detain you until police arrive to check your details''?

Becaue if it was the former, they can be in some trouble for that one.

nicko_mcbrain  said about 3 years ago:

''Becaue if it was the former, they can be in some trouble for that one.''

really? because that's what they said...

i was happy to comply, anyway.

Modi  said about 3 years ago:

They should be able to sell you a ticket, if that's actually the problem.

Clearly, that is not the problem, but revenue shortfall due to issues arising from population density and underfunding of PT.

jimmy hutspah  said about 3 years ago:

a mate of mine took them to court. he argued that he wasnt given the opportunity to purchase a ticket as he only had notes, but the shop at his tram stop was closed, and the machine only took coins. he won, the fine got thrown out.

canadachat  said about 3 years ago:

they should fukn install ticket machines that take notes. how fkn hard can that be.

also in case i haven't used this word today FKN! CUNCE!

just cuz..

Modi  said about 3 years ago:

Too hard, apparently, the machines that do accept notes can't give more than $10 in change, either.

nicko_mcbrain  said about 3 years ago:

a mate of mine took them to court. he argued that he wasnt given the opportunity to purchase a ticket as he only had notes, but the shop at his tram stop was closed, and the machine only took coins. he won, the fine got thrown out.

exactly why i was happy to comply.

sister  said about 3 years ago:

such bad technology and hardware. thanks jeff kennett and erg.

kreten  said about 3 years ago:

I don't understand why people don't walk away from ticket inspectors if they try to detain you.

One tried to detain me for not having a validated ticket (not my fault - validator at originating station was broken) even when I validated it at the terminating.

I just walked away.

I understand that they have the 'right' to detain you until police arrive. But if you give them enough attitude I think very few of them actually will.

sister  said about 3 years ago:

or break your arm

Modi  said about 3 years ago:

They have physically restrained people on occasion

juicenewton*  said about 3 years ago:

I saw them 'detain' a young girl just the other day at Spencer St. They grabbed her hoodie hood as she tried to walk off. I swear a few people were getting their phones ready just in case it escalated.

Modi  said about 3 years ago:

Moral: Hoodies are for crooks. Don't wear hoodies.

nicko_mcbrain  said about 3 years ago:

i'm wearing one now. and a frightful beard.

monosylabik  said about 3 years ago:

i saw a guy 'detained' with a knee to the ground from one inspector and three others holding his body. he wasn't even aggressive toward them, he just tried to run away. bleeding everywhere. fucked.

monosylabik  said about 3 years ago:

..read 'knee to head to ground'.

unclemuscles  said about 3 years ago:

they usually go after kid's - i saw 4 of those big grey bastards with clipboards in their cargo pants hassle the shit out of this poor little kid cos he hadn't bought a bike ticket.

jerks + pseudo authority = lets pick easy targets cos we have quotas to fill

moo-core  said about 3 years ago:

They also love targeting Asian students. And they fucking abuse them, yell at them and make fun of their English skills the whole time. Cunce.
