Official AFL 2009 thread

whatwhat  said about 1 month ago  or at  11:16PM on Monday, September 29 2008.

Starts with the trade talk, draft talk, and pre-season injuries, ends with some team winning the flag. Well, anyone except Melbourne.

thankyou gabbo, and here we are again.

o'keefe is leaving sydney to come back to victoria. where's he going to end up?

what about kerr? should he stay or should he go now?

astralwerkor  said about 1 month ago:

Kerr will go. He told me last night in the bowels of the Metro City nightclub here in Perth.

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

yeah they should be a major sponsor of the west coast eagles. but i don't know what team will have enough to trade for him.

astralwerkor  said about 1 month ago:

The Eagles will be picking up Nick Naitanui, the explosive rookie ruckman from the Swannies in Perth. Sure to be a fecking superstar down the track, mark my words.

unless melbourne do. or we go for watts, or vickery, or rich, or - just for shits n giggles, hit n memories - luke molan.

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

i think the eagles will be more likely to pick up daniel rich. he's from subi and seems a more eagles type player. i reckon dockers will get natanui.

astralwerkor  said about 1 month ago:

I thought the talk was the Eagles were initially leaning toward Rich, but were now looking at Nata? Anyway, I hope they both stay in WA. Both going to be big stars.

astralwerkor  said about 1 month ago:

By the way, my sister used to catch a bus with Naitanui. Claim to fame secured.

whatwhat  said about 1 month ago:

did she touch his dreads?

astralwerkor  said about 1 month ago:

Nah.

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

i think i read that yarran was going to be the bombers first pick at number 5, he and natanui grew up on the same street.

gabbo  said about 1 month ago:

that story is pretty cool about that set of neighbours.

i keep hearing ''o'keefe'' and ''essendon'' being uttered in the same sentence, but don't see how that would happen without our highest draft pick going.

and where is cousins going? if at all?

Goal attack  said about 1 month ago:

and where is cousins going?

Most probably home, in the back of a divvy van

clap! clap! clap clap clap!

marz102  said about 1 month ago:

St kilda or Collingwood will be Cousins new home if he plays footy again.

Kerr I think will stay and see out his contract at WC then in 12 months demand a trade.

whatwhat  said about 1 month ago:

i like the idea of o'keefe to the scrays for whatever pick they get from freo for ray plus their own second rounder.

i wonder if sydney will chase kerr though? that could muddy the waters.

no doubt we'll only know by next friday at 3.58pm. if the fax machine is working.

anok  said about 1 month ago:

are the dogs still sniffing around thommo or has he officially retired? i can't remember if he was in the retired players parade the other day.

drugshakehands  said about 1 month ago:

even though it's early, it's hard to see too many teams challenging hawthorn or geelong. i'm thinking brisbane could improve with the change of coaches, maybe carlton might make the 8.

Haff  said about 1 month ago:

I think/hope Voss is gonna crash and burn.

crackwhore  said about 1 month ago:

i'd love to see R.O'Keefe at Carlton, i love the way this guy plays, i'd prefer him before Kerr if in actual fact he leaves WCE, the Essendon link to O'Keefe is due to him following them as a youngster i think. Heard on the rumour mill Wojo wants out of Geelong also.

eastside  said about 1 month ago:

when did o'keefe wimp out on sydney??? maybe i should've read the hun today....

nup, he was a footscray supporter according to the age today. bastion of truth that it is!

For any Melbourne supporters out there, we have delisted Chris Johnson, yes, the guy in our team who could kick.

Well, not delisted, he walked out..So we cant attract players to our club, and now we can't keep the ones we have..good times

jimmy hutspah  said 20 days ago:

I fear for you turtle.

turtle  said 20 days ago:

It's OK, West Sydney Demons has an OK ring to it

crackwhore  said 20 days ago:

word on the street is Johnsons been offered a two year deal at Carlton, wtf?

Yep, means any other club has to meet that 2 year deal to draft him. I can see WC, Freo, Port and Ess all having a look at him before he gets to Carlton. Hope he goes back to Perth the greedy little cunt..Born and bred Melbourne supporter, Dad played for the dees and was a father son pick, started to show some good signs this year and now the greedy fucker is off.

We offerred him a 2 year deal, well a 1 year deal with performance based incentives for the 2nd year, which based on this years form would have easily achieved.

needlestrasse  said 17 days ago:

What's that saying? Something about sinking ships and small hairy rodents?

Earl Brutus  said 17 days ago:

whats that saying, carlton are a pack of cunts.

whatwhat  said 17 days ago:

word on the street is that the supposed offer of a two-year deal at the dees for cj is a touch of spin-doctoring. it was a singular. and bailey tore him a new one in the carpark from all reports. really let him have it with cross words.

he's not that big a loss. he's a lovely kick...on the left. completely one-sided and his right-foot kicks go straight up in the air...

Haff  said 17 days ago:

I can understand the emotion of Melbourne supporters, but I wouldn't wanna play for them at the moment either.

crackwhore  said 17 days ago:

good to see the hatred towards Carlton re emerging after a few years of almost sympathy.

whatwhat  said 17 days ago:

they make it easy.

crackwhore  said 15 days ago:

Harvs at Carlton, very handy indeed.

anonymous  said 12 days ago:

he was still playing good when his body was holding up.

shame there was no final game hoorah (well besides winning the gf, thats a pretty good hoorah)

guess there may be a lap of honour thing round 1...

hiponion  said 12 days ago:

new brisbane lions dynasty awaits... oh who am i kidding

crackwhore  said 12 days ago:

'the distance and break from footy has made me realise ive achieved what i set out to do in football' says Crawf. I read it as 'i can't be fucked doing an 18th pre season' which is fair enough, great career.

cheezel  said 12 days ago:

fair suck of the sav,can we please give cricket it's fifteen minutes!

crackwhore  said 12 days ago:

piss off to the cricket thread cheezel.
