i wanted the last song from the flip out set to actually be stranglehold by ted nugent, rather than just pinching the bass groove...

I didn't see them at Flip Out, but the Friday show was just beautiful. There was a real dreamy ethereal quality to them that a lot of noise rock bands don't have. No aggression, just a gorgeous all-engulfing swirl of sound. Pretty different to the split 12''.

The description of them as noise rock that I have heard more than any other attempt to describe them is woefully inadequate. Sadly I don't have time to qualify that right now.

The closest thing I can think to compare Zond to is Bardo Pond and maybe a bit of Les Rallizes Des Nudes.

Maybe I have a different idea of what constitutes noise rock than the people who tell me this. It's a wonderful, mysterious and diverse world we live in. Yes indeed.

I don't think Sonic Youth is that preposterous a reference point Modi. They certainly came to mind once or twice during the songier moments on saturday.
