yep, pony's booker
but the interfering grandpa, exactly!
(but FOR the...)
it used to be the african club or something. closed down for some bizzare reasons. the owners of pony and bar open bought the lease and now its open again under this name, using the same booker.
it is big downstairs, but apparently upstairs is HUGE. should be more good news for the area considering the rob roy has re opened.

The Rob Roy has re-opened?
I feel really out of the loop, considering I go past there all the time and haven't noticed yet.
So, err, its the old 101 that streetparty used to run shows at then, just being 99 instead of 101?

oh man.
did anyone come across a set of keys and/or a black flower (with gold outline) brooch last night (1st birthday)???? there were about six keys with a usb attached. the brooch is quite sentimental. :(
if anyone saw either, please let me know. or if you're a lurker and don't have a log in could you please return them to the tote. it would be very much appreciated. xx
umm.. great party otherwise! hah
Soo many pints and a crapload of dancing.
That sucks, lozz. I hope you find it!
In other Yah Yah's related news, we (as in YIS) are playing there on December 3. It's a Thursday. You should come and stuff.
yerp, also lost my purse with my friend's ipod in it (which was later found- phew) and a chunk of cash. definitely not expecting to get that back..
oh, and last summer i sat in vomit there. it's been a great year..
got my keys back!!! still no brooch though. wah.
Someone told me there was a record fair on there next weekend.
Nothing on their website- anyone know anything about it?
From fb:
Calling all record junkies!!!
Come get your fix at Yah Yah’s. You better start saving your pennies kids because Yah Yah’s is holding the inaugural CRATE DIGGER RECORD FAIR on Sunday 7th February. With stallholders ranging from some of Melbourne’s most dedicated collectors to favourite record stores around town, you’ll be pulling bargains and rarities out of crates left, right and centre. And since Yah Yah’s is a watering hole, you’ll not have to worry about going thirsty. What better way to rummage through crates of wax than to have a beer by your side at all times!!!
Doors will open at 2pm, so get down early to find the hot stuff and stick around late to enjoy the late afternoon musical entertainment of Melbourne’s greatest jukebox party machine, THE BREADMAKERS. There’s free entry so you can save your last $5 to pick up that killer 45 that’s eluded you all these years.
The YAH YAH’S CRATE DIGGER RECORD FAIR – Sunday 7 February @ 2pm with special guests THE BREADMAKERS
Crate Digger Record Fair - 2pm Sunday 7th
The Breadmakers live at 6pm
So, switching off my FB may not have been such a great move then.
Thanks.
record fair is a great idea
Any labels bringing their new shiz to this?
SO... is it free to get in to see the bands, or just free after the bands, or some combination and how does one know beforehand how much moolah to take? Questions questions.
