When are they playing next?
Have they found another guitarist?

Fuck I love The New Violence.
That pre-chorus to Got You On My Radar still gets me every time.
Another band that makes you feel much younger than you actually are.

respect.

I love this band. Greatest dudes. Very clever songs. Awesome. Come back, boys!

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

did they replace GT?

empra  said about 5 years ago:

I think they've got a drummer and are training up a gee-tarist.

disco & I were playing Peabody last night. I love that band, and I miss them.

Come back! Come baaaaaaaaack!

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

was wondering about that. will be good to see them with jared on drums, but trewin is going to be missed more than any band member in any band i can think of.

Inactivist  said about 5 years ago:

They got Bluebottle Kiss' drummer and... new guitarist? No word on their myspacious.

mrslooch  said about 5 years ago:

yeah, they got a new drummer and I'm pretty sure Chamie told me a new guitarist

cannot wait to see them play, hope it;'s soon!

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

jared from bluebottle, ohyeah

mrslooch  said about 5 years ago:

from their website:

Gentlemen, Ladies and the rest of you,

Please raise your glasses and welcome Mr. Jared Harrison into the Peabody group.
He will be placed in the position of drumming gaylord, as left vacant by Graeme
Trewin.

Some of you may know Jared from his percussive work with Bluebottle Kiss. Yes,
it's a very large bed, but I can assure you we are all using protection.

So congratulations Jared and thanks muchly to the others who took the time to
learn our songs and rock with us.

So now the evolution, or for the fundamentalists among us, intelligent design,
of Peabody continues, with our search for a super-model... or second guitarist
- whichever comes first. So if you think you can chop the chops and lick the
licks, let me know. I especially encourage any females to balance out what
little testosterone there is in this band already.

Must: Be available whenever we need you to be available regardless of whatever
other shit bands you play in, be willing to collaborate with 3 other people who
have ideas and opinions without resorting to childish name-calling or other
forms of sulking.

Must not: Be an arsehole, be a liberal voter, want to be rich or famous, want to
play heaps of solos.

Influences: Peabody

Get to it - find us an axe wielder.

Ohyeah  said about 5 years ago:

even so, he is not trewin.

yep chamie said same thing to butler and i mrsloochness

mrslooch  said about 5 years ago:

bumcheeksinthewind  said about 5 years ago:

anyone know who made the Wrecking Ball clip?

MattuS  said about 5 years ago:

Peabody makes me think of drunk nights at the Annadale, then getting across to the townie till 5am, then getting the night ride home.

empra  said about 5 years ago:

ha ha, same mattus. except i used to stumble to leichhardt instead...

MattuS  said about 5 years ago:

Empra, next time they play we should do a round of those purple tooheys old's.

empra  said about 5 years ago:

ha! damn straight! it needs to happen - once and for all!

filterfeed  said about 5 years ago:

what is a purple tooheys old? is it an old, without the taste of putrid sock sweat included?

empra  said about 5 years ago:

an old with a shot of grenadine

josejones  said about 5 years ago:

If I lived in Sydney I would audition for this band.

But, sadly, you can smell the Melbourne all over me.

bumcheeksinthewind  said about 5 years ago:

i'd like to audition.

when i listen to professional againster i get confused as to why it wasn't a huge massive success.

Dan_Crad  said about 2 years ago:

Likewise. Very live sounding recording, which suits the songs and band perfectly, but not radio. It would never get played on JJJ these days

In fact, Peabody are one of many fine local acts once played by JJJ that Lord Kingsmill has since run the arbitrary red pen through.

de.foxus  said about 2 years ago:

i listened to new violence the other day and have a similar news item.

and will prob now go listen to professional againster to double check, but i'm 99.99999% sure you're right.

de.foxus  said about 2 years ago:

i now can fifth or sixth the notion that professional againster is indeed still awesome.

Eple said 15 days ago: I saw Bruno at some party at new years eve. He exists!

Bruno was at a party I was at on NYE - either he gets around (haha) or Eple and I were at the same party

mrslooch  said about 2 years ago:

Eple  said about 2 years ago:

montyclift  said about 2 years ago:

passing the aforementioned bruno on the marrickville metro travelator, i asked how friday night's gig went:

'yeah, tops! ended up bleeding.'

so rock, that boy.

andydepressant  said about 2 years ago:

He didn't drink and that caused him to bash his own head with his own guitar so hard he still has a black eye. Not that I was there...

looch  said about 2 years ago:

Peabody were great on Friday !
