We were driving through Geelong on the way to Golden Plains this year, and someone remarked ''You know, they should rename this place.... Epic Dump''

panda_monium  said about 3 years ago:

Goal attack  said about 3 years ago:

Lived there for 6 months in 1993 - i was 17 and was boarding with a really short guy with a really big head who was a mad catholic into Hunters and Collectors and Mike Oldfield. Spent almost every night at the Barwon Club.

elaine  said about 3 years ago:

I spent three years at ''The Gordon'' from 93-95 and refused to live there. Caught the train each day.

Went on a pub grawl one Friday night and the only place that was ''rocking'' was playing Cotton Eye Joe.

true story.

de.foxus  said about 3 years ago:

I worked at Deakin Uni for a year in the grunge 90s, lived down the coast though.

I wrote a poem about Geelong during this time. Its called ''Geelong'' and it goes:

People who live here, I've heard them say

It can take a whole lifetime to get away

The air is a mist and the sky is grey

WTF am I doing here today?!

Block  said about 3 years ago:

Going to Geelong used to be a treat. Bored!, Behind The Magnolia Curtain, GOD, Seminal Rats or White Elephants at the Telegraph. Or maybe the Hard Ons, New Christs or Hoodoo Gurus at the Barwon.
$7.00 and a 40 minute train ride got you a whole new city to play in.
Sooks.

elaine  said about 3 years ago:

well!

it's $17.60 these days.

Block  said about 3 years ago:

Really?
Swimming home across the bay was always the tricky bit.

Ken Fucking Kunnington  said about 3 years ago:

elaine  said about 3 years ago:

The Nash is the only good thing in geelong!

The arts festival was cancelled.

Sunnyboyz  said about 1 year ago:

Sunnyboyz  said about 1 year ago:

The beer barns are shutting and a respectable bar has opened. Geelong, a new dawn awaits you.

september  said about 3 months ago:

a new dawn of seedy educators.

what do you know of this juice?

anonymous  said about 3 months ago:

aha, the subject finally appears here.

GrantleyBuffalo  said about 3 months ago:

I can't go into details, but let's just say I currently have a LOT more spare time.

september  said about 3 months ago:

maybe you can get your distinctive tatt lasered off and get back into the game, grantleybuffalo.

anonymous  said about 3 months ago:

school's been named, which'll only help everyone involved.

GrantleyBuffalo  said about 3 months ago:

All joking aside... Jesus. My sister's new partner teaches at that school. He teaches maths, though, and doesn't have any armband tatts that I've seen.

Thank fuck...
