Ok I'm pretty sure all of my friends who like music will ridicule me for this but I can't stop listening to it like I can't stop listening to shit Cambodian disco. On that note actually does anyone else like stoopid Sublime Frequencies music?

...and concerning Ariel Pink, I find his music strangely unsettling, but I love it. I'm glad I didn't see him live otherwise the whole too-far-down-the-AM-frequency aura may have been ruined
Yeah, that's what stands out to me alot! Some of his songs though could stand alone as real good punk numbers, some!

the music released by sublime frequencies is not stupid at all - it's unique and regularly brilliant more like it, especially doueh, inerane, omar souleyman, shadow music of thailand and bollywood steel guitar.
as an aside i remember fondly ariel singing along drunkenly to 'ratfucker'.
a new ariel video for an old song (gray sunset from the doldrums). ariel's hair is looking magnificent!

hey nightmonster, it is goddamn unique, and brilliant! Whats Shadow Music of Thailand like? I like my Thai music, like Thai Pop Spectacular! That one ''unknown'' song with the fuzzy heavy rock guitars and high pitch chick whyyy did it have to be unkown damn!
i haven't heard the thai pop spectacular but i've heard the molam discs and have ordered the 'thai mystery record' (on mississippi records). shadow music of thailand is one of the best so far and only the third SF set to get a vinyl release. i missed out on the vinyl versions of group doueh and group inerane, with each of them going for big bucks on ebay now (consistently more than $100USD for albums that came out barely a year ago...)
Shadow Music Of Thailand is great! One of my favourite SF releases... all the ones I've heard so far are great - with my favourites being Cambodian Cassette Archives, Shadow Music and particularly the Omar Souleyman one - was obsessed with it for months last year.
there's live footage of souleyman on youtube. i read somewhere that he has moved to columbus, OH. not that i believed it...

At $15, I bet those who forked out $50 on Sunday are spewing.
It'll go real late, yeah? Was planning to leave pretty early for GP on Saturday.
it's an 8pm start, we're going to keep the support slots short & sweet, all of us need an early-ish night before golden. will publish playing times soon.
this was such a last minute hairbrain scheme (decided in the early hours of this morning), so we are just so happy the phoenix could accommodate us. it'll be fun!
I went last night and I'm not spewing, sounds like tempted to go again but probably will just preserve energy for a dance during their Golden Plains set.
Did they play anything after Menopause Man last night? Had to leave to catch the train/tram. Among Dreams put a massive smile on my face.
Dang it, I can't make the secret show. Good thing I did see them at the corner. The current band is great. Ariel is currently sporting a hamlet hair do.
