ENTERTAINER Don Lane is being looked after in a care facility.
But reports that he has dementia are incorrect, his manager Jayne Ambrose says.
She said the 74-year-old had recently been moved from his home to a care facility.
He had not been there long and was physically fine.
Asked about reports Lane had dementia she said: “Certainly that is inaccurate, that report.”
“Don is very physically fine and he is in care,” she said.
Ms Ambrose was responding to reports quoting Lane's long-time friend Chris Kearns as saying: “Don is suffering from dementia, he is not well.”
The American-born Lane is best known for his work on the hugely successful Don Lane Show, which ran on the Nine Network from the 1970s until 1983.
It was on the show that he formed a close friendship with fellow entertainer Bert Newton.
Lane won more than 15 Logies during his career and in 2003 he was inducted in the Australian Logies Hall of Fame.
He made a guest appearance on the ABC's Late Show in 1993 and hosted American NFL broadcasts for the ABC in the 1990s.

Don Lane originally came to Australia as a short-term replacement for Dave Allen, and stayed until now.
why the fuck has he got a manager at 74 while living in a nursing home, are there gigs in there?
you could get the blacklist a gig there, crackwhore.
Don Lane and James Randi, for hilarity.

Poor Don. The best second banana's second banana there ever was.
Sad loss. Pity Channel 9 lost that footage of him interviewing Hunter S Thompson.
