Umm, Peter DO NOT STEP UP TO ME when it comes to metal. I know more about metal than you know about your immediate family. Plus, you love indie rock which makes you a fashionista and a poseur.

Looch, I would recommend playing in a metal band if you want to make it anywhere in this industry.

Metal bands are awesome..in their own light...they have their own time and place..but not everyone likes it and there are probably more metal bands that are not ''making it in the industry'' than other types of bands...

Just because you haven't heard some of the most deeply emotive, technically complex, lyrically profound albums of all time, doesn't mean you should be bitter at me about it. Just be happy I'm informing you of the underground. Seriously, metal is the best music, apart from a bit of classical and maybe Radiohead and Muse. All those popular metal bands you listed might as well not be metal, because unlike shitty indie rock METAL ADVANCES AND EVOLVES. LOVE LIVE METAL
