pfffft.
Have you checked out Einstellung yet...??? They've supposedly got ex-member/s of Godflesh (not sure who). I'm liking what I've heard so far - I caught them on RRR on the way home the other day.

no i haven't, cheers FLOBS;)
That cd by Final was damn fine..
who are they, frigid?
Essentially it was just Godflesh in a more minimalist/atmospheric outing.. cd came out on Bill Laswell's label which currently escapes me.
JESU
life is dead
you reckon?
Listening to streetcleaner, Godflesh are/were great. Jesu kind of bores me though, no balls
2 different kettles of fish.
Yeah, i'm not expecting them to be similar, or even as good, the music doesn't seem to go anywhere.
broadrick seems like a really smart guy. i saw a great interview with him where he was talking about his days in napalm death.
Do you remember what publication the interview was in hwct? Wasn't Broadrick only a member of napalm for the hatred surge demo, and then he left?
yeah I think thats right. here are the links to the interview:
part 1
part 2
part 3
godflesh are really fuckin' great. ice, god and techno animal are also worth listening to
Cool, thanks for that hwct, i don't even have to read
my pleasure. he makes for a good interviewee, eh?
Godflesh live Germany 1990
I met Justin a few weeks ago. Lovely chap.
Another great live clip

''Pure'' bonus tracks:
''Love, Hate (Slugbaiting)''
''Pure II''
''Slavestate'' bonus tracks:
''Slateman''
''Wound 91''
godflesh has always been one of my favorite bands. my only gripe with them was the drum machine, i think it always sounded too clean. i wish they would just get a drummer, it would have the recordings so much better.
Songs of Love and Hate and Hymns both feature real drumming. One reason why both those albums rule.
He played on one side of Scum.
Godflesh will reunite for a show at next years annual “Hellfest” festival in Clisson, France which will take place from June 18th through to June 20th. Other bands on the bill include Kiss, Crowbar, Decapitated, Sick Of It All and many more.
Fuck! Why can't they just come here?
Heaviest band ever!
crossing fingaz bro....
Just heard this news. Hellfest lineup looks pretty good actually!
god i hope they tour! i know its futile dreaming such things but i just wanna see them, is that really too much to ask?
this is the band that the dude behind jesu is from, isn't it
i like that opiate sun ep a lot
Id like to see Jesu over here....
Did I ever tell you Bastard Kestrel did a European tour with Godflesh....after the first gig they wouldnt let us in the van so we had to get trains for the rest of the shows.
Anyways before we fell out Justin let me touch his steel Plectrum.....
they used to scare me when I was 15, 20 odd years later they just sound AWESOME, so fucken heavy!
been listening to hymns a lot lately but im dying to get a record player so i can rediscover songs of love and hate, i feel that this is their best album with selfless as a close second.
Apparently Justin Broadrick has a fear of flying so it's unlikely they'll ever come here.
ill buy him a ticket on the p & o funship.
This new project sounds bloody good
Gotta get on this. Kind of a shame an associated documentary hasn't surfaced as a part of this package, but then I guess this is to be expected in light of Broadrick's absence from the Scum doco.
BTW that talk above about preferring the non-MACHINE lineups is crazy; Streetcleaner all the way!
A doco would be bloody awesome, agreed.
Working on new material
awesome.
