irony is a dramatic theatrical device that dates back to ancient Greece.
post-modernism is just a stupid chronological term used to define a non-style that came after another style, just as stupidly called Modernism.
you might as well call it Mannerism. same diff.

fair argument. I think post-modernism is a between style. a very much 'searching style' to be fair. Irony in the modern world is a between style too, because it negates it's own reason for existing. so I think they are linked.
