If anyone is interested, Adam and myself (formerly of a band called Very Much Robot) have started a new band with some mates, one of which also plays in Yeah Bears.

We sound sorta similar to earlier At The Drive-In with bits and pieces of bands like Orchid, Crow, Trail Of Dead, Batrider, Nation Blue etc.
It's a bit hard describing sounds, especially since we only have a few songs at this stage.

Anyway, if you are keen to see a new Sydney band, have a look here, we have some shows coming up, in Thirroul and Sydney.

No sounds up as yet, will try and get some footage from the upcoming shows till we can record some demos.

We are playing at the Lewisham hotel soon and la Campana later in May, they're a bit closer to home.

doug free  said about 3 years ago:

should be fun, as long as Adam keeps his ego in check.

paging Mr Adam to thread

doug free  said about 3 years ago:

oh yeah, should change thread title to try and woo potential door sales and we can buy ourselves some gnarly wide brims.

MattuS  said about 3 years ago:

Is that you K Rock? I don't do wide brim, only caps with the flappy bit at the back.
Adam is not on mess+noise, you just bad mouthed him on the internet and he wont find out, a victimless crime

they're really good! when adam isn't having a sook

kandos  said about 3 years ago:

they're really good! when adam isn't having a sook

that's the kind of comment that will ensure his continued sookery.

looking forward to seeing this band some time in the next thousand years or so.

whale  said about 3 years ago:

its the sookery that keeps things interesting :D

kandos  said about 3 years ago:

i have to admit i prefer adam's stage banter when he's all pissed off at everything.

whale  said about 3 years ago:

exactly. its like how russian peasants in 1920 should have the best comedians ever.

kandos  said about 3 years ago:

live at the pogrom...

whale  said about 3 years ago:

what's up with cannibalism?

eldritch  said about 3 years ago:

I'd go and see this band if Adam weren't such a tool.

LOL

MattuS  said about 3 years ago:

the sookery in action

p.s. Adam just threw up prior to playing, schooners of wine are a bad thing.
Kandos, hoping to get to Melbourne this year, i feel like that kid with the power glove trying to get to California.

Come Together Festival this Saturday @2 PM

first band for whole festival!

before the HC bands day, then whiny indie emo day Sunday

tenzenmen  said about 1 year ago:

from au review:

Up first came Hira Hira, one of the most exciting acts getting attention in Sydney's underground scene of bands that incorporate the hardcore sound into their music without being either tough guys or MySpace kids with straighteners. Their abrasive style of indie-oriented post-hardcore certainly left a few heads in need of scratching, but once they got over their nerves of playing such a big stage and the crowd got over their pretensions, things were a lot smoother. The band's brief set was chaotic, loose and a great start to the day.

Playing Spectrum tonight at 8pm with The Outsiders (NZ), Lungs and A Death In The Family (Melb).

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

Playing this Staurday night at Brighton Bar on Oxford Street. I've never seen a band there before but apparently it's a small room with little or no stage, perfect!
This could be our last show as a four piece, so come along for the end of an era, also our last Sydney show for a little while.

gunshot_glitter  said about 1 year ago:

You;re on the same night as Zeni Geva, which sucks. Was also looking forward to finally seeing the Tombstone Ramblers too. This looks like a genre defying show.

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

To be honest, I've not yet heard any of the other bands which could be fun.

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

We are playing tonight at The Sando.

Playing this Friday night at The Annandale! With our bro's Between The Devil And The Deep, To The North and from the United States La Dispute!

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

Oh, and we will be on first so please come early.

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

T-minus 5 hours!

tenzenmen  said about 1 year ago:

how was it matt?

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

Fucken great! Really good night, not sure if it sold out but would have been close if not. All the bands were great, new Devils stuff is rediculous, jaw dropping chord progressions. To The North are incredible still and they hadn't played in months. La Dispute had the kids going ape shit, real impressive band, the kinda professionalism you get from touring the states constantly I guess.
And to blow our own horn I think we played pretty bloody good, our best show with Jack so far, 2 brand new songs and we nailed them, very happy with the set.

MattuS  said about 1 year ago:

Last show for a little while this weekend. We are playing at Black Wire To Common Ground on Parramata Road. Saturday 22nd January 2011. 7pm. $10. Also playing are Intentions, The Fighting League (ACT) and LIfe & Limb.
