office

I'm liking the more i see it. The two episodes last night were genius.

Inactivist  said about 2 years ago:

Rather underrated. Nice one, walrus.

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

I hated Dwight the first time I saw him. Too much of a try-hard gareth but he's really developed.

capo3rdfret  said about 2 years ago:

I long to say 'he is the jim to her pam'

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

The Jim and Pam thing has developed pretty well too.

It's different to the UK version, more out there, in yer face. I like it though.

capo3rdfret  said about 2 years ago:

better than the UK version

there I said it

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

never. but just as good in a different way.

twisterella  said about 2 years ago:

Not better, but good. Has some really funny parts. It doesn't have the same Brent awkwardness though. There is a bit more gross humour in it too than the British version.

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

and stupidity.

steve carrell is a genius.

the power of 666  said about 2 years ago:

Better than I first thought.

And yes, it's all about Carrell.

the power of 666  said about 2 years ago:

Asides from him, the casting is a bit patchy.

capo3rdfret  said about 2 years ago:

theres something about the way gervais talks, like when hes trying to be funny and he kinda trails off that I see more as a novelty and thus harder to relate to in an everyday sense

fakeplasticme  said about 2 years ago:

Was just thinking I should give this version more of a chance. I saw it when 10 first screened it but as I am completely and utterly obsessed with the UK version I couldn't view the remake objectively.

In other news, I watched the entire series of Extras again on the weekend - for the 408544th time - when are the ABC ever going to screen it???

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

you have to get past the first 1 1/2 episodes of the us one to see their proper show. the first bit is just the uk one rehashed.

muscles  said about 2 years ago:

the email surveilance/jims party episode is so good

"stop!! detective michael scone, i'm with the FBI! BOOOM........ BOOM!" the whole improv thing is hilarious!

i reckon the awkwardness is just as good, michael crashing a co-workers party that he wasn't invited to, and when he was asking everyone where they were going when leaving. so cringey. and having lunch with them saying in college you always invite the professors to the parties cause they're the most fun!! hahaha

they're all amazing. phyllis, angela, dwight, kelly, jan!!! jim, pam, stanley, the temp... comical geniuses!!!!!!!!!

fakeplasticme  said about 2 years ago:

Yeah I've heard that before walrus. The US season DVD is on sale at HMV ($25?) so it could be a handy pick up, think I'll get it.

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

the improv scene was hilarious.

muscles  said about 2 years ago:

i'm in awe of every episode of season 2, a lot of thought was put into it i wonder what season 3 is going to be like

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

yeah, i'm going to get it at lunch.

i'm becoming obsessed.

capo3rdfret  said about 2 years ago:

don't forget kevin and oscar

and creed!!

This show is brilliant. I am not ashamed to say that I like the US version much better than the UK version. There, I said it. And yep, I have a crush on Jan.

I only started getting into the American Office a couple of months ago. It's very good.

I just found out last week that Creed was a guitarist in The Grassroots. 'Let's live for today' is a classic.

oort  said 13 days ago:

Pam has hooked up with her ex again.

tigers  said 10 days ago:
