Mistletone Appreciation Thread

astralwerkor  said about 3 years ago  or at  9:28PM on Monday, April 7 2008 in music

I could have sworn there was one of these before (and someone like switchy or socks had started it), but I searched every variation and only found a thread relating to last year's Christmas compilation.

Anyway, I just want to express my gradititude to this fantastic little label that could. The stuff you peeps put out is continually awesome (great international stuff, especially El Guincho and Panda Bear, and tops local stuff like Kes and the forthcoming Beaches album which I'm sure will rock my socks). Just phenomenal, keep up the fantastic work.

I'm sure there are many others here who love your style too. If you are one of these aforementioned Mistletone-style lovers, post some appresh here. And if you're new to the shit the label puts out, I encourage you to check some of it out here.

I <3 YOU MISTLETONE!!!

I was just listening to the new Kes album that Mistletone sent me (ta btw) and thinking what a great label they are. I've heard everything they've put out and (apart from one release which I won't name) I've really enjoyed everything they've released.

trafficsounds  said about 3 years ago:

i like mistletone A LOT. sophie is also rad. praise to beach house and el guincho.

astralwerkor  said about 3 years ago:

Tell us which release you don't like dj!!! And then we can slander you for daring to criticise an artist on the roster of the bestest Australian label ever.

sharptooth  said about 3 years ago:

i went cd buying the other day and all i bought was mistletone records.. quite accidental.

hearts to mistletone

feralmedia  said about 3 years ago:

Yeah, I'm sure there was another thread like this! I can't remember if I started it but if I didn't, I meant to. ; )

Mistletone is an amazing label and Sophie and Ash rule the school. Beach House, KES Band, the Mistletonia compilation, Dan Deacon, Francis Plagne, and of course Panda Bear... I can't wait to see what the future holds for their release schedule! And the seasonal Tones gigs are going to be a lot of fun.

basil seal  said about 3 years ago:

Bump for love. I'm listening to Evangelicals right now, another awesome tops band that, how coincidence, Mistletone puts out!

Further to the above, but without the uplifting pic, fans of mistletone should not forget about:

'' Mistletone presents the first in what will become a seasonal happening -

Autumn Tones at The Tote on ANZAC Day, Friday April 25th.

This inaugural ”Tones” event will feature a bunch of our favourite Melbourne bands who we reckon will help create a cosmic autumnal evening of epic proportions.

The lineup for Autumn Tones will feature

Witch Hats
Kes Band
Beaches
Embers
The Ancients
The Sun Blindness
+ djs Shags and Switchblade Sisters Sound System

Doors 5:30pm til late ''

Come early for delicious vegan BBQ as well as standard Tote meat BBQ.

Pay your bills Mistletone!

hyperfuzz  said about 1 year ago:

that seems to happen a lot.

mistletone  said about 1 year ago:

It happened last month too. It's so weird - we've had massive downloads of all our MP3s for the last 2 months from russian & chinese websites who are streaming all our music, what's up with that? anyhoo, we've just increased our bandwidth so it should be back on soon.
