''A Brooklyn-based duo and its discombobulating dubby masterpieces'' - or so it's been said. Anyone into them? I've been listening to 03/07 - 09/07, their eMusic only compilation, quite a lot lately. Apparently they're recording an album... good times.

Ha, I was gonna start a High Places thread the other day, couldn't be arsed. Good band. On Mistletone out here, or at least they had a track on the Christmas sampler. Their cover of The Modern Things on the Stereogum Bjork album is tops.
That Bjork thing is pretty ace - at least lookin' at the names involved. I have to listen to it more though.
aww man, i've been holding off starting a thread about these guys for a while too! they're pretty sweet, huh? i prefer the ep to the 03/07-09/07 thingy.
The live set on pitchfork.tv is pretty cool.
yeah really cool. want to hear more.
I have friends in High Places, you know.
i'm sure you do
Foiled! I just came in this thread to make that joke! Highly annoying. Anywho, I'm loving New Grace at the moment.
Now one is for the money,
And two are for the show,
Now three times I'll be ready, stop by before you go!
Yay!
Nom nom nom...
I'm liking that compilation thing.
Things got pretty dark there, and it looked like we were stuck
It's hard out in the desert, when you're just a little duck!
So we built ourselves a raft and we took it to the moon
'Though things got kind of rocky, on those lunar afternoons!
Quoted from the Winter Tones thread, straight from Mistletone themselves (non-genderer specific?):
I demand a tour!
Yay!
Bump.
I like this band too, astralwerkor.
So, info on the debut, self-titled, album, with some pretty mad-decent artwork, care of Bitchfork:

Cool cover.
Get out. (It is pretty cool though)
I don't actually mind these guys. I think I need to hear something more solid than what I have though (that 03/07-09/07 one).

yep. here's me shouting.
Do I need to be more overt?
:)
probably ^_^
...but under the cover of darkness.
(wink)
Did I hear them in a television ad recently?
Napisan?
newness
What's the new album like, anyone? I'm afraid the new Radio Dept. took downloading precedence but I'll get around to it.
I've just heard one song, I think it's the opening track and it sounded amazing.
pretty different, mostly vocally. not feelin' it yet, but haven't given it enough attention.
Where the arse did you get it? The usual suspects turn up nothing.

I love this band. Saw them a few years back in Glasgow, supporting Deerhunter.
Here's hoping for a Brisbane date.
Hot playces.
Cold playces.
Huge crush on Mary Pearson after seeing them the other night.
Lol @ MrsGideon.
Had a power nap during their performance at Frankly! festival in Brisbane last night. Couldn't get into it at all. Oh well.
The 20-minute-plus wait for their set to start due to sound issues didn't help them any, but I felt like their set finally started to kick off about 4 songs in when the sound guy managed to get the mix right (the mix for the first few songs was terrible), and High Places seemed to be into it more by then too.
