Sucks about the lack of Bejar, though. But Neko more than makes up for his absense. swoons

blake3030  said about 5 years ago:

anonymous  said about 5 years ago:

blake3030  said about 5 years ago:

The point was to try and get anyone with info to spill haha.

anonymous  said about 5 years ago:

all you've done is raise hopes, and then dashed them, in the space of seconds!

mcclap  said about 5 years ago:

According to the Prince ad in Beat/Inpress today the New Pornographers will be playing there on Wednesday 13/12. No details on their website yet...

josejones  said about 5 years ago:

so neko is defo coming here for this??

blake3030  said about 5 years ago:

Fucking brilliant.

I had a feeling they'd be playing the Prince.

blake3030  said about 5 years ago:

Yes, Jose.

Wouldn't you go see AC do his thing alone if she wasn't?

I seem to remember you once saying "AC Newman could take a shit in my ear and it would sound good"

Looking forward to finally seeing these guys on Thurs.

whatwhat  said about 1 year ago:

Do they have a national support? Seeing them tonight. Can't wait!

redlips  said about 1 year ago:

very very much looking forward to the EBC show this week. Piking from seeing them with you at the Gaelic was stupid of me whatwhat.

Also - I'm going to see Dungunda Street Sounds at Fed Square earlier that evening - AWESOME act from Ramingining, Arnhem Land. Anyone else up for the double gig shuffle?

whatwhat  said about 1 year ago:

You live, you learn, lipsy.

ashtray  said about 1 year ago:

Great show at the Hi Fi. So many smiling faces in the crowd, like everyone was on some kind of wonderful drug.

bergholt  said about 1 year ago:

bigdaddykane: Setlist, anyone?

something like this:

spanish techno
divine right
what turns up in the dark
that neko song with whistling
all the old showstoppers
the laws have changed
my rights vs yours
these are the fables
twin cinema
testament to youth in verse
sweet talk, sweet talk
the body says no
the jessica numbers
boring mid-tempo neko dirge
your hands (together)
mass romantic
moves
use it
bleeding heart show

something else recent which i can't remember
myriad harbor - sung by some mad mofo named andrew from the audience who nailed it!

the slow descent into alcoholism

tigers  said about 1 year ago:

The one before myriad harbour was 'challengers'.

sharptooth  said about 1 year ago:

bergholt! you going to EBC show too?

boring mid-tempo neko dirge

!??

whatwhat  said about 1 year ago:

Teensy-weensy bit disappointing, if I was being honest.

bergholt  said about 1 year ago:

nah sharpie, will be at the worker's club instead for oscar and martin.

as for my editorial commentary, i like very few of the new pornographers songs with neko singing, i think because they get too wussy and slow. letter from an occupant is the only one i can remember that i like. i only like the pornos when they go hard and fast.

asbestos  said about 1 year ago:

looks like an early start according to the EBC website - they hit the stage at 9.10pm

tigers  said about 1 year ago:

If anyone has a cheap(er) ticket to the EBC show let me know. Keen to go again, but not 'full price' keen.

blake3030  said about 1 year ago:

Can't believe i'm going to see Harry potter instead of this.

tigers  said about 1 year ago:

Kathryn Calder > Hermoine

poprocks96  said about 1 year ago:

Can't believe i'm going to see Harry potter instead of this.

Time to man up, Blake.

blake3030  said about 1 year ago:

It's a good reason not to spend $55. That's about it.

poprocks96  said about 1 year ago:

This was really good! There were a few sound difficulties to start off with but once sorted it was fantastic. I have a medley going in my head, loved it!

poprocks96  said about 1 year ago:

Neko's hair looked quite damaged and dried. She should use some leave in conditioner.

sharptooth  said about 1 year ago:

yeah was fun.
the guy next to me singing along loud harmonies and whistling was pretty annoying. i s'pose it wasn't too bad – at least he was in tune

froginasock  said about 1 year ago:

That was very excellent. 'Jackie dressed in cobras' and 'Letter from an occupant' sounded incredible.
