Best Simpsons Episode

Call me cliched, but Last Exit To Springfield. You know, the one where Homer becomes Union president, and Lisa needs braces.

I really like the Frank Grimes episode.

Awesome.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

Homer's Enemy, locky. Probably my second favourite. I was shocked when I found out that a lot of people hate it with a passion. I have the little power plant lunch room w/ exclusive Frank Grimes figurine.

LockingPlier  said about 5 years ago:

Hate it?!?!?!

How can people hate it? It's Homer at his best.

CaptainLeSnak  said about 5 years ago:

I have too many.

You Only Move Twice, where The Simpsons move to Cypress Creek and Homer's boss is an international terrorist.

22 Short Films About Springfield, where Bart and Milhouse ponder if anything interesting happens in Springfield. Skinner tries to impress Chalmers with lunch, Apu skips 5 mins of work to go to a party and there are a million Pulp Fiction references. Oh, and the tall guy in the car VS Nelson Muntz.

Homer The Great aka The Stonecutters episode.

Most of my favourite episodes are in Seasons 6, 7 & 8. 3, 4 & 5 are great seasons as well. It started to suck in Season 9.

I never thought I'd enjoy The Simpsons DVDs as much as I do.

svelteslacks  said about 5 years ago:

i wouldn't say it's my favourite episode... but it has my favourite song - the one where homer is stamped insane and meets michael jackson.

lisa it's your birthday can get stuck in my head for days.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

Apparently it's too 'meta'? I love it. I also love Homer Goes To College and shitloads of other Conan-scripted gems.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

YES on all three of those, LeSnak. Did you know! that most of the Skinner-Chalmers exchanges are improvised? And that that entire passage about steamed hams in that episode was improvised? A-FUCKING-MAZING. That's where having the best voice actors in the business comes in handy.

CaptainLeSnak  said about 5 years ago:

Onion that just blew my mind.

The Skinner/Chalmers relationship is one of my favourite things about the show.

Especially when Chalmers starts going out with Skinner's mother.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

It's absolutely incredible and if you listen to it you can totally hear how it's improvised. Brilliant.

charlesincharge  said about 5 years ago:

"Apparently it's too 'meta'? I love it. I also love Homer Goes To College and shitloads of other"

shit yeh.

i love the ironic, moralistic early episodes.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

I also love a couple of late-ish episodes, like the Tomacco episode.

charlesincharge  said about 5 years ago:

yeh Tomacco is golden

capo3rdfret  said about 5 years ago:

agree on all three of lesnak's

you only move twice is too undermentioned.. sooooo good

switchbladesisters  said about 5 years ago:

Bart Gets An Elephant.

I love how cruel everyone is.

Bart: Uh, it's hard for us to leave when you're standing there mom.
Homer: Push her down, son.

Bruce  said about 5 years ago:

i like the one where homer has to wear the pink shirt to work.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

Oh yes:

  • Cape Feare
  • Homer The Heretic
  • Duffless
  • Marge vs. The Monorail
  • Lemon Of Troy
  • Homer At The Bat

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

and Rosebud, the Bobo the Bear episode, Homer's Phobia, with the gay man that runs the collectibles shop, and Radio Bart, where Springfield sends its love down the well.

charlesincharge  said about 5 years ago:

you should go on Einstein Factor inion

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

oh, and of course, Homerpalooza, with Sonic Youth, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Peter Frampton.

Benji  said about 5 years ago:

Hahaha to LP, Grimey!!!

My fav is when they go into witness protection.

Agent: Now, when I say, "Hello, Mr. Thompson," and press down on your foot, you smile and nod.
Homer: No problem.
Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson! (presses on Homer's foot)
Homer: (whispers to other agent) I think he's talking to you
