I baught his last albumn because I didn't mind one of his songs on the radio. It's the most cheated I've ever felt buying an albumn. I took it out of the CD played and left it next to it(which was outside). A few days later my CD player speaker was toast. Ben Kweller burnt my speaker by reflecting the sun on to it. BASTARD!!

i quite like the new album - its kinda on par with On My Way, there haven't been that many stand out tracks though. Nothing quite compares to Sha Sha...

the new Album is out thru Shock in Australia.
last year Ben was telling me that he was being courted by Dew Process and EMI, who wanted to take over after his Sony/BMG deal finished.

I wonder what happened?

I mean Shock are really great i think, but I wonder if economic issues changed and the other deals didnt go ahead cos of that.

i just can't conceptualise that ben kweller would ever sell enough records to be on a major label and i figure that's why sony didn't renew the contract. emi might've heard the new album and passed on it.

Yeah they maybe did pass on the album after hearing it cos the EMI rep was pretty keen at the time, he flew interstate and caught a cab for an hour to come to a regional show that i was playin with BK, plus i saw the DewPeeps geting kinda serious too.
is there no money left in the label pockets?

Gave the new record a spin this morning. Am liking it, but don't do what I did you listen to it after listening to Hank Williams all weekend. BK can write a great hook and turn of phrase, but everything vaguely country pales in comparison to Hank, especially lyrically.

Shame about the venue for all the work and time hifi spent on revamping the forum I kinda expected something a little better, it kind of has a hollow horden like feel to it,
