Cranky Hanky - well, there are quite a few peeps doing backing vox on that track so I can't quite decipher which voice is yours, but it is all superb. 'Twas always my favourite Seventeens track.

I'm feeling pretty chuffed that I managed to figure out that was Brad singing in parts of it, as well as what backing part you sang - considering I've never really heard either of you sing all that much, if not ever. My ears are still working good guns.

The Hymies album launch is in Brisbane this Saturday night at the shamrock hotel. Feelin' Lucky, New Wave Hookers and some half assed version of The Sips are playing too.

Double Helix was run/owned by Trixie's sister and her boyfriend. I spent just about every weekend there for the 6 months or so that it was going...

And the 'riot' gig that I think you're referring to was They Might Be Vaginas (with possibly the Cool Millions or the Hymies also playing). Gutterball Pete threw a stubbie from the back of the room, it hit a rafter above the stage and rained down glass on the band. One of the guitarists got pissed off, started heading towards the back of the room, Turbo made some smart arsed comment and almost got decked, table knocked over, Stumpy then went and abused Gutty and that was the end of his tenure in Big Bongin' Baby. I was in between trying to keep them apart. Took Gutty outside to get a cab with Crazy Chris and had some pissed off audience members come out and shout abuse at us and throw a glass at me.

Another classic Double Helix gig was Muscle Car & Strutter. Graham stormed off stage after a song and refused to play until Satan gave him some drugs, Gutty fell down as he does sometimes and Graham stands on him (a few days later, after a trip to the hospital, Gutty discovers he has a fractured rib from this incident), towards the end of the set Gutterball leans forward and puts something in my hand... it's part of his tooth that he's managed to chip with his guitar headstock... by the end of the night I've lost his tooth. Most of this was recorded... someone get it up on YouTube.

And... since this is a Hymies thread... I still remember the first time I saw them - Halloween (how apt) in 1998. Bless.

I'm also wearing my Hymies shirt right now. I haven't taken it off for three days... since it's only another 5 days before I'm back in my own bed I don't know if I can be bothered trying to find a laundromat. Touring Europe is stinky fun.
