sugar hangover

freaksandgeeks  said about 5 years ago  or at  10:40AM on Monday, September 18 2006 in stupidity

Ever had one of these? I had a magnum last night, half a kit kat and a couple of tim tams and now I feel like death. But it was lovely at the time....Hanoi Jane took some very funny photos of us enjoying our sugar fix.

Back to the detox today. I'm drinking green tea with jasmine.

thats some lapse to the detox freaks!.. how long u have left on it?

if youve been detoxing heavily it might be the preservatives and other artificials in the sweets you had thats given you the rough feeling too

when i get back from melbourne i'm going to do a detox.

sugar = evil

While my parents are away I'm going to eat lots of healthy things. My stomach is so happy! I've been feeding it lots of blueberries today.

Is the sugar in fruit OK? Is it just sugar in stuff like lollies that makes you feel like rubbish?

Bart: [groans] Oh, my head.
Lisa: Tsk, tsk, tsk, the remorse of the sugar junkie.

added sugar = bad

natural sugars = good!

I've been detoxing for 6 weeks. 6 to go.

hiponion  said about 5 years ago:

what is involved freaksy?

Sugar hangover??

I always feel something which could be described as this immediately after eating a lot of sugary stuff.... but not the next day.

fr3ky  said about 5 years ago:

fruit sugar = fructose and lollie sugar usually = sucrose.
i dont think theres much difference to how gross they make you feel. your body is able to use the fructose better tho (more for longer lasting energy than for an instant rush and conversion to fat). if the sucrose has been chemically refined then you'll be dealing with those chemicals too..

halfway celebrations for freaks! drinks? ;P

freaksandgeeks  said about 5 years ago:

what's involved? I follow a program from a naturopath/dietician. No processed foods besides low fat cheese, no wheat, sugar, flour, alcohol, caffeine (bar one cup of tea) etc. It's designed for people who have thyroid problems who have trouble losing weight due to medication . I've lost 8 kilos so far.

anyone have really bad sugar withdrawals? I actually feel like I am dying. Please say it will get better.

nyx  said about 1 year ago:

I gave up sugar for a month and a half earlier this year and it was horrendous for the first couple of days (maybe a week) and then it was awesome. So yes, it does get better.

Lollies are really fun though.

LEARN SOME LESSONS

ill  said about 1 year ago:

I am really struggling. I am used to only eating sugar foods every day. I sleep with a giant box of mentos next to my bed. It is the 3rd day and I swear its horrible. My legs are constantly buckling underneath me. I hate this.
Thanks nyx.

nyx  said about 1 year ago:

yeah it's actually really terrible. I had headaches all the time for the first week and I felt quite awful indeed. But you do actually feel heaps better after a while. You'll make it through, ill! I believe in you! It will feel better!

alec m  said about 1 year ago:

i like to eat a whole packet of tim tams and pass out

ill  said about 1 year ago:

thank nyx,
I need all the help I can get man.
Lets see how it goes.

sharptooth  said about 1 year ago:

after halloween festivities and zillions of lollies, i think a sugar detox is called for.

urgh..
so the gist i'm getting from this thread is that it's tough the first few days, but it gets easier?

I think I just gave myself diabetes from eating a few cartons of koolmints.
