New-ish NME vampire garage punks the Horrors. Very fucking good actually. Video for sngle 'Sheena is a parasite' banned by MTV. Aparently Samanthat morton and Sqid guts is not fit for public viewing. That makes 'em fine by me...
www.myspace.com/thehorrors
watch 'em go.....

Hahahahahahaha
This year's Pink GRease
whoosh bit of a n00b when it comes to bands like that... But i get the gist of it.
is this the same Horrors who had a 7" called Shake Your Shit out in 2003?
will find out...
nope. Totally different band. Completely unrelated.
sweet.
im afraid
of the previous Horrors? I thought maybe they'd just sold out and become lame NME love-fodder.... but now i've listened...
you like the new horrors?
runs wildly from swiftly approaching hype-cloud
well... we'll say no.
hahahahahaha. better safe than sorry.
I really dig the other Horrors, if it's the Horrors from Iowa with two albums from 2000 and 2002. Great shit slop blues punk band. I saw one photo of the new Horrors and naturally I wanted to kill them slowly.
yes. Image oriented is too mild a term for them. BUT. it's almost better than bands who don't consider their image. In a way...
their time will pass with haste, Rigid.
But others will come in their place.... let's be ready.
crosses and holy water?
I saw the (American) Horrors at a festival in Las Vegas in 2000. They were incredible!
The likes of the (UK) Horrors should be met with sharpened potato peelers and salt.
These lot are a media productI think half of them worked for Face magazine...your standard all coke and style, no substance...
(they're better than Pink Grease though!)
gotta find out who the fuck pink grease are...
Their NUTS new video . . . produced by Chris Cunningham

anyone lookin' to off-load a ticket for tonight's show at the Forum for cheap?
Happy with the early start and finish with having to work tomorrow morning and all.
See you there, melonfarmers!
I recommend getting there at 10PM. That support act could ruin your whole evening. Fuck they were bad. REALLY bad. They have made my shortlist of worst bands I've seen live.
I wanna see Jack Ladder though. ALLBROOK/AVERY do sound pretty shit though. Ill give them one song then head to the/a bar.
I have to work tomo morning too. But I only just got back from workin today. too much hurry hurry.
Jack Ladder was OK. He only got like 4 songs though...
hey lax, what was so bad about allbrook / avery?
I guess they had a jam or two and they get on OK. Maybe now they should write some songs or work out what they'd like their sound to be or if they just wanna be an improv band be able to play well enough to pull that off. Yelling ''whoop!'' into the mic every few minutes wasn't funny the first time and had diminishing returns each time they did so. The main singer/guitarist was like a 10 year old who has just discovered Nirvana...yeah another one.
Excellent show last night. Albeit a little brief. Felt they were just getting warmed up when they played Still Life and then walked off. 3 song encore was brilliant. 'Dive In' probably my highlight. I'm a fucking sucker for shoegazey guitars - love it! I'll be happy when they've made 6 albums and have more of a cannon of songs and turn into Wilco playing 3 hour shows.
Oh, and they sounded incredible.
Awesome. Good to hear...
Yeah sound was really good. really brought the drums to the front. and the bass. good job sound guy.
Was it just me or was the set like 50% primary colours?
Also. That was like 500% movement on the last time I saw them. Last time they were all in black in barely moved. They really are on their way to becoming a stadium rock band...
Also. allbrook / avery were not at all as bad as I thought they would be. Liked them a lot more than tame impala. But then, I don't like tame impala very much...
I thought more like 20% ''Primary Colours''...
I only heard Tame Impala a few days ago. I found em on my phone. Didn't mind it. I don't know how anybody could like that other band but yer know each to their own and that
Pretty sure they played Scarlet Fields, Mirror's Image, Sea Within A Sea and Three Decades off Primary Colours.
Yeah. That sounds right.
And Who Can Say
Sea Within A Sea... what a song.
Watching You Tube video of the film clip and a comment made in response to someone not liking the band was ''Have you been smoking AIDS?'' I had a chuckle.
