Anyone else think they are getting rorted. When you think you have a good job and been doing it for some years at the top of your game working 15 hours a day , only to find out some pencil pushing, Non qualified, bludger works for just 8 hours a day and makes shit loads more then you ?

Not nowadays...but I have been there. When I was working in the pubic circus, I was networking an entire department, supporting 1000 users & generally being fucking great. The girl at the front desk who answered phones & nothing else got paid more than me.
that is terrible tripto. although some people around this place get paid too much, others such as my legendary PA Pam, should get more. even though i have no idea how much she gets, she should get more.
It was also nearly 15 years ago...I'm over it now. Nowadays I'm the massively overpaid one.

Well...that's "public service". For nearly 10 years. I quit 12 weeks before getting long service leave, just could not stay a moment longer.

when i was a graphic designer a few years back the company i worked for bloody hired a crappy 3D animator and paid him double what they paid the 2D artists who actually did 90% of all the art work and this fuckhead downloaded all his 3D models off 3D web sites and had no design skills whatsoever didnt know jack shit and all the programmer tools thought his "work" was ace and he had a glamour photo of his bungface wife in her undies on a motorbike in a frame on his desk god i hated that dickhead.
Freaks , they always say no and when i get the balls up to quit i know ill never find another job like it. Its a catch 22 . so i am forced to delve in criminal activities to make my weekly pay cheque worth while SHAME ON YOU JOHN HOWARD

for me, i have been here nearly 4 years. worked and asked to get up to my salary (which is still shite compaired to eveyone else here). then someone new comes along right out of school and gets the same salary as me. Then we have permanent freelancers here, would be nice to get $200 a day

Maybe Not ohyeh but i still think i have a much more important job then a TV scheduler. I Mean really not to mention the differecne in hours, im here from 10 am to 9 pm everyday . and dont get paid overtime or for weekends
in the current pay strcuture at my work, it is impossible for me to earn more than the phone answering monkeys, even though they call me 7 times a day to ask abvious questions that they should know the answers to. it's very irritating.

CR, i suppose the only thing is, being a studio manager kicks arese over a tv guide person.
taking the high ground doesn't pay more.
even without needing comparisons - you get completely rorted and used....
and Cleve - it may not get better - but it will be more tangible as you will be able to see the moentary results directly from how much work you put in.. rather than have them go somewhere else... even though you do all the work.

i'd just like some consistency.
for most of my music related work i get paid three-fifths of five-eighths of fuck all.
for a weekly market report i can write in about an hour, they pay what the magazine pays me in a month...
for writing a bio for a major label's band, they paid twice me as much as i would have asked for, to do half of what i would have provided. note: i didnt say i didnt take the money.

i would just like to say that i got my pay review today and i am a little disappointed.
bad day for both of us ohyeah... i got told the max salary at my job interview and it fell quite a few thousand below what i'd hoped.
