great name.
the one after one song thingy is faboo.
good band.
haven't heard of this lot soula, but they sound good.
i heard another band from glasgow that called themselves fight pop, sort of similar to this but a bit darker and with more keyboards. i have one of their songs at home, can't remember their name though. it was good stuff, i'll chase it out over the weekend and post it up here
i thought no one cared! after i put up with 90 minutes of listening to artrocker on woxy.com and found these guys.
never heard of the term fight pop. some of dananananaykroyd songs remind me of black level embassy, but obviously bits are poppier.
fuck it took me forever to remember how to spell their name! 4 an's and two y's. when i first saw the name i thought they were a joke, bad uk humour. luckily i was wrong!
please people go and listen. you'll thank me.
acually it was these guys, i remembered after some googling
Multiplies
multiples didn't really grab me. too much synth. the friggin 80's are over, kill all synths.
i don't mind some of their stuff, but some is a bit too much in that vein that's been done to death in recent years.
sounded less hackneyed a few years back. and got me fascinated with the phrase fight pop. i don't know the history of the genre two well but multiplies were the first i'd heard
of course it sounds like heaps of other things that have gone before, just recombined
Hey Soula, Dananananaykroyd are coming out here in July.
ps. I thought Multiplies were great.
oh my god!!! i saw it on a poster when i was at the east last weekend. i'm getting my ticket! i hope they're good live. confused as to why they are coming out here?
pretty sure that dew process is releasing them, and popping them on the bill for splendour.
got my ticket. but i've seen a song on rage...not sure i like it. hmmm
Anyone going tonight? This should be a fun gig.
just got a free ticket so see you there! I haven't ever heard this band, but fun.
live from twitter.
Whoa indeed. There goes tomorrow nights plans.
1 epic song and a trip on the mic cord did it. We moved away when he stacked it. I feel so guilty for not catching him now.
Poor guy.
Annandale are doing refunds.
This band suck immense penile. Should harden the fuck up.
It was a little bit of a nightmare. They're a great live band and what happened must have been very upsetting for them.
But honestly, I don't think that one sprained/broken wrist = tour end.
So maybe a tiny bit of hardening up wouldn't go astray.
bummer, years ago josh homme belted a bloke at revolver and broke his hand still played the rest of the shows on that tour
So what you are saying is that Josh Homme is way more awesome than Dananananabatman... even though he is a ranga.
I'm sure nobody wants to get involved in judgment calls over the scenario...but the truth is easy to find.
I heartily endorse this band/thread
was it not the singer/ drummer that's broken his arm though?
drums are a problem with a broken arm, hard or not.
They do have two drummers; possibly for this exact scenario.
Argh, same. Poor guy. And everyone's just standing around wondering if it's part of the act or not. It kind of looked like he was going to leap down and run through the crowd and got snagged on the cord as he jumped. I think.
And yeah, drumming with a broken arm sounds a bit tricky.Feel like I should chip in for a get well card or something.
They have two vocalists, how could one of the drummers have broken his arm?
Second drummer but also co-vocalist. He swapped between the two.
It was with great sadness, and an incredible amount of pain, that Dananananaykroyd were forced to cancel their headlining Sydney show last night. Drummer/vocalist John Baillie Jnr had a heavy fall on the third song into the set, breaking his arm. Tonight's show in Melbourne has also been cancelled.
sauce?
Dew Process Myspace
Mmm, delicious HP.
sad times.
did he crai?
No he was a trooper. He crouched for awhile and then eventually walked outside.
Fuck yeah, Glaswegian tough.
I remember seeing 311 play in '97, and the drummer broke his wrist dicking around with an Aussie Rules ball before the set... drum tech filled in, mediocre set was over in 5 songs. My 17 yr old dream of rocking out to 311 shattered.
I'd still see them today if someone had the guts to tour them.
FUCK!
had a lovely meal at the east though. guess i'll have to pick up my refund tomorrow.
another reason to hate sydney.
From DiS
Dananananaykroyd have been forced to pull the last two shows of their Australian tour after drummer John broke his arm in a crowd-diving accident during yesterday's show at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney.
The band were due to play at next Friday's Belladrum festival, and further news will follow regarding the bands future and current touring arrangements, which were only announced earlier this week.
John is currently in hospital in Sydney receiving treatment and bandmate Calum explained:
He added:
With regards to prospects for future shows, Calum also said that:
That does indeed sound very nasty and somewhat painful. Wishes from all at DiS for a speedy recovery and swift return to the skins for John. We'll all drink to a fast recovery!
Ah shit. fucken markup.

split, next tour will be last.
