Anyone on here care/excited about this? I personally can't wait. Although the new album ain't amazing, there's some corker tracks on it, and the live experience with DEP is where it's really at anyways.
Anyone know who the support's gonna be? Hope it's someone I actually care to see, not fuckin Five Star Prison Cell or something. Also, anyone know where the Melb show is gonna be? I'm guessing Hi-Fi Bar, can't think of anywhere else that could work, besides the Corner Hotel, which I'd say is too small for these guys these days.
And for those new to the band and actually interested in finding out more:
DEP Myspace
Insano footage of ''Destro's Secret''
Great live footage from Virgin Megastore instore

saw them last time and they were pretty fucking good. guitars are way too pointy tho
They'll have an eye out one day.
I've heard their new album is on the sucky side. Anyone confirm?
I initially thought the newy to be quite sucky ... track three is a suprise, to say the least. But I stuck to it, gave it a fair go, and now there's 80% of a choice album there. I like it all up until track 8, ''Milk Lizard'', which is shallow party-metal with terrible trumpets, and the last two tracks are skippers too, spesh that one with the Mastodon dude - yuk.
Ok. No doubt they will still absolutely rule live. Total mentalism.
daaffafafasfsfa
will they rule live? who knows, now that there's only one original member left, and their performance on whatever late night clone show it was (see original thread) was FUCKING GOD AWFUL KILL THEM NOW.
ROX, i totarry searched for a thread, sorry.
Interesting. I didn't know that rox. I probably won't go anyway.
original thread; fair enough it's poorly titled
maybe i mentioned it in the other thread but check these bands for music in a similar vein to old DEP but even better:
blood on wedding dress
devilica
infinite delay
I'm excited even if no-one else here is.
Dead Guy and Human Remains are also better than DEP.
I'm excited, cul. Guess it'll be another gig where it's just you and me up the front. Nah, jokes, I'm sure there'll be plenty o' folk who are as amped as we are.
Guess who's supporting!
Wish I hadn't slept on seeing them when they were here last time, I don't have as much interest in seeing this current incarnation.
I wanna see Coliseum.
i wasn't going to go this, but coliseum? fuck!
Tickets on sale Monday 14th, $52+bf.
Any chance of a cheeky Coliseum sideshow?
Erm, I lied, tickets went on sale today and they're $75+bf!!!! What the fuck is with that?! That's a retarded price ... but I'm still going.
That's not the price the Palace website is saying, but then it's hardly uncommon for ticket prices to magically jump when they go on sale. It really is getting to the ridiculous point where I can only see a handful of international touring acts a year the way ticket prices are going.
last time i saw dillinger they were about $20. they can felch a whale.
I wouldn't oay $75 for DEP, but I would pay that much to see someone felch a whale.
bags whalefelcher as a band name.
Nah more like 'The Whale-Felchers'. I buzz playing triangle/being ya sleazy A&R man.
or maybe ''Felching the Whale''
Rumour has it they're coming back this year (via Soundwave Touring/KMW). Anyone got the scoop? I suppose I could wait to find out but I am impatient.
That would be awesome. I'd love to see them again. I spent the best part of last week listening to Miss Machine
Yeah me too actually! I must say I didn't really give Ire Works much of a go. Worth a revisit?
I dunno...it's on my iPod and I haven't listened to it for ages. I was going Miss Machine cause it's the only one I own on vinyl.
There were ads up on the big screens at Soundwave for a May/June tour.
last night was fucking amazing
Can't believe noone's in this thread. Philistines.
can't stand them - well i lie, the first ep was pretty rad
all my mates love them though
is that contributing enough roasty?
i dig there stuff before the latest singer. some of the later stuff i've heard sounds woeful. sure they still go off live though.
I just totally forgot they were coming. I recall thinking awesome when I saw the adds a few months back. Then I forgot.
I don't really care for their music, but their live show is brilliant.
Calculating Infinity is one of my favourite albums, if they hadn't released anything after that I'd probably go see em.
hmm. no love for their branching out into hyper speed emo?
you know it's still probably worth $60 to see them play 43% burnt.
saw them last time and they were pretty fucking good. guitars are way too pointy tho
this. still got a dent in my forehead from 2005(?). cool show tho
