humanityisthedevil  said about 4 years ago  or at  4:11PM on Tuesday, March 18 2008 in events

12.04.08: Sabbatical Presents the second in our monthly series at the Afterdark: SCUM NIGHT. On this occasion we have sought to bring together a pungent crew of Melbourne's finest direct from the sewer. Krystkrvstoffiston, Pissbolt (members of Dad They Broke Me debut show), Collapsed Toilet Vietnam, Pathetic Human, and Odiusembowel will all offer uniquely diseased takes on genre moves resulting in unparalleled filth. Good times are assured, and will begin at 8:30 PM. Five bones in at 565 High Street Northcote.

Awesome!

I'll be there for sure.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 4 years ago:

Nice! Collapsed Toilet Vietnam not only have the best band name ever, they are also one of my favourite bands to see at the moment. Good shit!

fastcanoe  said about 4 years ago:

I also like the Swans vs Whitehouse presentation of this poster.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 4 years ago:

Good call, canoeboy. That reminds me.... I saw the Negativland book in a secondhand shop yesterday. Is that worth purchasing?

kandos  said about 4 years ago:

crap my daks and call me caroma.

i'll be in sinney like some hipster shitstain.

fastcanoe  said about 4 years ago:

Is that the book on the SST debacle? If so, then yes, good readin'.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 4 years ago:

I assume so, Fastass. Might pick it up.

fastcanoe  said about 4 years ago:

I would if I meandered past it on the open plains.

FrankieTeardrop  said about 4 years ago:

Even if it was covered in dingo shit?

fastcanoe  said about 4 years ago:

That might just give me the skills needed to undress babies in the bush, so yes.

The Doors are playing?

(Dad joke alert!!!)

Yeah a very thin (bony, even) Jim Morrison approached me a couple of weeks back and asked to join the bill as a late addition. In keeping with the theme of the night, the oldsters are going to cover GG Allin classics such as 'Bite it You Scum', 'Outlaw Scumfuc', 'Gypsy Motherfucker,' 'Suck My Ass It Smells,' 'Die When You Die,' and 'Young Little Meat'. Should be fun man - apparently Morrison has been well into the Allin/Anitseen-style axis for some years.

This Saturday folks: Five Blasts, Five Bones.

An 8:30pm arrival will ensure you catch all the good stuff.

Next Sabbatical Presents (May 10) is shaping up to be a corker too, and will feature: Marco Fusinato, Screwtape, Oranj Punjabi, Juarez, and Absoluten Calfeutrail.

he'd do a great version of 'When I Die', I reckon.

Damn, I just realised this clashes with Spectrum at NSC. What a cruel twist of fate! Why are we so spoilt for choices??

humanityisthedevil  said about 4 years ago:

There's a show on at Forepaw also I've heard, featuring Default Jamerson oddly enough. He's gonna head down the The Afterdark following. Good to see so much going on along High Street I guess!

humanityisthedevil  said about 4 years ago:

This is tonight - YOU should come down to it.

This show ran almost exactly to my very rough playing times above. Weird. Pissbolt is a new favourite - shockingly good.

humanityisthedevil  said about 4 years ago:

Some suitably scummy photographs of this show are up now at http://sbbtcl.blogspot.com/. See if you can make out anything, and speculate on just how many pots I had swallowed throughout the evening...
