Ok so my ridiculously ripped nephew (who works as a trainer in a gym) told me about this pre-trainer stuff called D'fine 8 by Musclewerks. It's supposed to give a really good boost to any workout, like natural anabolic steroids but without the pimply bum. It also apparently helps to reduce cortisol levels (which contribute to belly flab). Has anyone used it or any other pre-trainer supplement they recommend? At roughly $80 for 450g it's pricey.

I got a free sachet of some of that pre-training boost stuff (the GNC variant) and tried some before a workout. It was a bit of a rush - sorta felt like speed or something - but it didn't seem to actually boost my performance in terms of reps or max weight. I just don't know if it's strictly required, that sort of thing.
Just general fitness & ongoing improvement.
I would only want a boost before cardio workouts since I do them usually first thing in the morning, as opposed to weights which I usually do in the afternoon. Anyway I thought it sounded like an interesting supplement since it was recommended by someone I know to be super fit.

You don't need supplements, but it's just the easiest way to control and time your macronutrient intake, whilst making sure you don't get any added nasties along with it. Not sure about wanking, but having regular sex is supposed to do wonders for your hormones and therefore muscle synthesis. Not to mention the mental health.

Not too serious. I can do stuff but when it is painful when I move my right arm across my right shoulder. My friends were doing 100 Reps for time with a regulation comp bell and did 10 or so...very bad form. i might hyperextendend my shoulder or something.

Blerg did a fun run on Sunday. 8ks, actually enjoyed it & felt fine afterwards. On Monday morning I had a PT session which involved a 10 minute uphill run, pretty hardcore super circuit with one-armed kettle bell swings, those situps where you have to stand up after each one & pushups with one arm balanced on a medicine ball & the other on the ground, followed by boxing training & finishing with more situps but this time while holding a medicine ball over my head. I felt fine for all of this until later Monday afternoon when my left knee joint started to get horribly sore. I guess the pain is a delayed reaction to the run on Sunday but it's massively annoying & I hate walking slowly with a limp :(
