I'm in Hawthorn East and there's no reception. What's going on???? I wonder if this is also why I can't get through to a friend of mine's mobile as well. Been trying to call him but it keeps going to voicemail.

just tried to call an optus-er in sydney and it's not working here either.

It was fine out in Clayton half an hour ago.

Yeah, this was pretty frustrating. The past few weeks I've had Wally Meanie accusing me of not answering my phone (I haven't been able to due to starting a new job) as I know he's gonna harass me. Yesterday I did answer an unknown number call, it was Wally and he said ''oh, you answer when you don't recognise the number?!'' I explained work was quiet and the boss was out.

He tried calling yesterday evening to tell me the news of Tas Meanie's death and the Optus network thwarted my taking the call. Thanks Optus.

ok, for future reference, in the distant future when spacemen will still be using a 2008 apple iphone. after making a call to optus:

settings > general > reset > reset network settings.

solved it for me this time.
