hey brimstone you tool, people were calling them juggers/juggs when they were playing to a half full room at 161
@Chris: it'd be nice to think that they'll leave this site to its own devices and just peer into it to see what to market on more mainstream sites, but I suspect that's not the case. Judging by Destra's mission statement, they're not the people to leave things alone when there's money to be made. It looks like they're going to advertise M+N on other sites and elsewhere, and promote it as a destination for ''alternative rock'' fans. Which means an editorial policy equivalent to JJJ playlists (no more writing articles about obscure little bands you're passionate about unless they're marketable to the suburbs; here's a heap of press releases from EMI and Sony BMG, write them up), and a lot of the kinds of people who wear flags as capes coming into the forums. (Anyone old enough to remember USENET when AOL users started flooding in will find it unpleasantly familiar.)
I heard that Destra bought us for $50,000. Surely M&N is worth more than that?
I'd love to review Adult Contemporary stuff for them
this is getting silly..
hey, how about we just wait and see.
I know its probably revolutionary, but our benevolent overlords are still the same people they were when they started this shindig.
Agreed, nony.
This sort of thing:
reads like Nostradamus 2.0
where's the fun in that? bring on the wild predictions of doom and gloom, i say!
i am all for waiting and seeing.
if danny had sold messandnoise and said goodbye and left it in the hands of destra, i'd be with you all the way, but danny has been good enough to us over the last however many years that i trust he'll continue to do good by us.
Like some kind of... benevolent daddy!
who is your daddy and what does he do?
Is he rich is he rich like me?
not much has changed... yet and appealing to inner city coolies who lead market trends is worth a very pretty penny the articles stay the same the audience stays the same but the advertising increases
You know what's great? Central Station Records. I haven't been for ages, but man it's the coolest, most happening record store around! Don't be put off by the black and white logo with the ugly font - check it out!
i went to central station the other day and all i found was trains.
ripped off!
Has their new acquisition been performing satisfactorily?
What are the key performance indicators?
Perhaps they will understand this is a transitional period and have budgeted for a temporary dip in chat productivity.
bollocks where'd you hear that?
yo, we're rich, bi-yatch!
should finally be able to get those sound effects implemented now.
we're all shareholders, right?
well, that or dom's sub-woofas are totally kick arse.
