i like it a bit more, more composed. the first one was good, but the young liars EP was so good that Desperate Youth seemed a bit of a let down.

A more solid listen, but it doesn't have the standout tracks that Desperate Youth had.

desperate didnt have the stand out track. the mr grieves cover is bliss.

Yeah 'Staring At The Sun' is easily my fave- wish every song was that good. I do have to ask would they be critically adored if they were a bunch honkeys?

Worst? How short people's memories are... has anyone actually listened to the first album the whole way through? After the first few tracks there's a REALLY big fucking drop-off... just sayin' ;)

Did anyone go last night? I heard it was pretty disappointing... mainly due to the shitty sound. Hopefully they sort it out tonight for the Flaming Lips!

From where I was standing, the sound was generally really good. Unlike most gigs at that scale, the bass was wonderfully clear in the mix and the vocals sounded great. Their trombonist sadly got buried for the most part but he still added to the cacophony..

I really enjoyed the gig- nice to see a lead singer who’s that confident and engaging (and a terrific fucking dancer), yet still kind of immediate and seemingly humble. Fugazi cover in the encore was a nice touch too

the sound was bad at the metro.

the more i drunk, the less of an issue it became.
