M+N Best Australian Release Poll 2007

M+N Best Local CD  said about 4 years ago  or at  2:55PM on Monday, January 7 2008 in competitions

Hello,

I'm back.

After a very successful poll last year - won by Eddy Current Suppression Ring - the Mess+Noise Users' Poll for the Best Australian Release returns.

To vote, simply PM me your top 5 Australian releases of 2007, in order, with 1 being the best and getting 5 points, 2 getting 4 points, and so on.

EPs, 7-inche Singles and Albums are eligible, as are reissues released in 2007. If you're unsure about a release, PM for a ruling.

Voting closes Sunday 19 January and the results will be announced on Mess+Noise shortly afterwards.

You're welcome to post your votes on the thread to impress and/or defy your fellow chats, but we're only counting legitimate PMs to M+N Best Local CD for the results.

Every legit voter will go into a draw to win a prize - we're not sure what it is, but it will probably involve a stack of free CDs.

Thanks,

The M+N Team

I can't think of many. I didn't get very involved.

1) Midnight Juggernauts - Dystopia
2) New Buffalo - Somewhere, Anywhere

I'm sure I've missed some. I can't even get to five off the top of my head.

anonymous  said about 4 years ago:

i plain out forgot on the last weekend after spending time deliberating.

could've been 61.

don't think it would've changed the final results all that much though.

anonymous  said about 4 years ago:

and its about 4 times the amount of people as the critics poll.

So the kind, astute and generous crew at Shiny have given us a collection of CDs for a voters prize draw:

Midnight Juggernauts – Dystopia
Dardanelles – Mirror Mirror
The E.L.F – Stevie Nicks Hearts (EP)
British India – Guillotine
Bit By Bats – Go Go Go!
Sugar Army – Where Do You Hide Your Toys (EP)

Factoring in writing all the legit voters names on pieces of paper, cutting them up and doing a draw under government supervision, expect a winner at high noon.
