this is one of my favourite records of last year. sort of minimal techno house stuff. released on kompakt. anyone else a fan?
i don't normally like stuff like this enough for it to be a fave of mine, but i've found myself coming back again and again to this record. so textured.
p.s. you can acquire this album through a post in the gmail

I gave it a go earlier in the year. Wasn't feeling it.
this record is bugging me of late, but i keep going back to it.
listens again
It's like Burial for Germans!
I am fan, and I don't even listen to techno kind of stuff.
it's different style obviously, but this reminds me of ellen alien & apparat's orchestra of bubbles album in that it just kept with me all year and really kicked my ass a lot and kept me coming back (and keeps me coming back) and it's not really a genre i know a lot about or really enjoy a lot as a whole
kept with you all year, or since pitchfork top 50 albums came out?
rowr
omg someone likes an album from this year that is on a list of fifty albums from the same year
SHOCK
this is one of the best albums of last year.
Great album.
oops. listening to it again. so sexy.
I know it's so addictive isn't it!
very smooth
Fantastic album. I got into it after reading the Pitchfork review back in March or April and man...it's nothing like what I'm usually into but it's SO evocative of northern Scandinavia and the way he assembles the songs is so different to anything I've heard before. Really moody and brittle. Glad to see some M&N-heads are are digging it too.
yeah totally. i don't normally listen to this type of stuff, but it's all smooth and subtle and futuristic, but with clear nods to the past and uhh, yeah, i guess i'm finally conceding that i like it a lot. haha.
you seem to know your shit shaun... can you reccomend anything similar of comparable quality?
OR
?
Wow - I'm reading Day of the Triffids right now.
...But this album sucks.
i really like it. so easy to tune out and just have as a kind of quiet pulse in the background.
Both redmenace. I can imagine those beats drifting out of a rural shed, soothing the flustered moose.

Maybe I was just really in the mood last night. Guess i'll see how it holds up after multiple listens.
h8 the live bass on the first track so much. H8!!
Funky
don't mind the rest of it, even if the songs are all an hour long.
Two chords. It's a bit like krautrock without any instrumental nuance.
I will probably be really obsessed in a few weeks.
at first i was like, ''why did this guy have to go and get a band?''. but the drums are good when they're subtle. the bassist should leave the band, though. sometimes i wish it was all more synthetic. also, the ones i liked best first are the ones that sound like the first record. hehe
hmm, does the 3rd track sample the radio dept?
and something else, obvs.
uh oh.
He went and got a band? Uh oh spaghettio indeed. Why ruin a good thing?
The second album didn't grab me, though I listened to it about all of one time. Im definitely in the could listen to the first one forever camp.
I'll give this a go. I don't think a band is necessarily a bad thing, depends how he utilizes it.
Second album is great but takes a lot of getting into I think. The title track is really standout.
Quite liking this album, a bit too repetitive in parts, especially the closing track, but there is some gold within. Perhaps because of anok's comments I didn't find the bass as insulting as I expected to. Needs more listens though.
What are we thinking of this Looping State of Mind business a while on? It hasn't really grown on me very much.
I still haven't heard it. Will grab it right now in fact.
Think I might delete it. I almost never do that.
I really like it
FINALLY worked out where the vocal samples from ''Over The Ice'' came from.
Kate Bush's ''Under Ice''.
Go have a listen. Tell me I'm wrong.
So I decided to load the Udner Ice into a sampler and have a play around, and my god you're very right, and my god it's fun to fuck around with, knowing exactly how he made that song now.
Fuck. Now all my songs are going to sound like The Field from now on.
