Seeing as your Paypal protection runs out after 45 days, and they won't even print the tickets for another six months...

nedb  said about 2 months ago:

You'd be suprised. Ive scored ace tickets to a bunch of shows a couple of days beforehand or on the day too many times to count.

Be patient. You'll get tickets...

I understand the risk here but it's usually pretty clear when you're dealing with a dodgy seller. If you're buying from someone who's been an ebay member for 10 yrs and has thousands of sales and 100% positive feedback you can be pretty sure they are legit.

mrmagoo  said about 2 months ago:

a question, if i remember correctly, there is only one GA/standing section at Rod Laver, right?

only been there for Gorillaz, think it was just the one section

flukazoid  said about 2 months ago:

If there's a way to go out, this would have to be it.

steveholt  said about 2 months ago:

They may well open up tickets in the seats behind the stage or restricted view seats side of stage given the high demand.

mrmagoo  said about 2 months ago:

I think they already sold them

flukazoid  said about 2 months ago:

Chugg announced on FB that they've cancelled the tickets of a few people that managed to get multiple batches of 4 on the same credit card. Interesting.

monoceros  said about 2 months ago:

Why would bother doing that and ignore the far greater problem of scalping on ebay.

Selling tickets for above their face value via auction sites or any other unauthorised means is in breach of Ticketek's Terms and Conditions of Sale. Any customers found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions may have their tickets cancelled, their My Ticketek account closed and their credit card black-listed by Ticketek.

It actively monitors online auction sites and uses sophisticated techniques to identify scalpers and cancel their tickets.

Sophisticated techniques? How hard is it to type 'Radiohead Melbourne' into the ebay search engine.

steveholt  said about 2 months ago:

Interested as to why Radiohead aren't playing Music Bowl. Holds 25000 capacity. 2 shows there and you'd appeased a whole lot more people. Especially if fucking Bon Iver can play there Radiohead surely would fill it easy.

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

Dude... they're too big for the Music Bowl

The Sidney Myer Music Bowl ain't a stadium venue

Radiohead are playing Rod Laver cuz they have too. It's a stadium gig.

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

Oh ...you telling me Rod Laver capacity is less than 25000?

I thought it was like 40000 or sumthin

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

Wow... just found out Rod Lavet has a capacity of 15000

I NEVER KNEW!!!

....yeah, Music Bowl would have ROCKED!

my bad

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

In my mind Rod Laver was the big assed stadium venue

...and Myer Music Bowl was that daggy lil' venue where they have Carols By Candlelight

HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED

hyperfuzz  said about 2 months ago:

if you got one of the 2000 seats. i h8 the grass

mrmagoo  said about 2 months ago:

these boys are very particular about their sound these days, thus Rod Laver is a good choice. Just needed more shows

potcrok  said about 2 months ago:

Wont the tickets be released until September? And dont you have to show the receipt with your name on it from an outlet. Wondering weather people might get caught out this way.

Ticket scalping sucks. I hope people who miss out hold out to the last minute where tickets will be slashed to sale price or cheaper so those fuckers lose money over it. Something really needs to be done. Its so dodgy.

monoceros  said about 2 months ago:

Where did this idea come from? I've never seen something like this implemented at a gig. Bit unreasonable to expect the purchaser to show up at the same time as the 3 others they bought tickets for just for the purpose of matching ID to tickets.

jhf92  said about 2 months ago:

so, 'climbing up the walls' made its tour debut last night. along with 'the amazing sounds of orgy' (a pyramid song b-side, apparently). closed with reckoner and paranoid android. setlists are looking good so far.

Interesting regarding ticketing strategies to stop scalping.
