Well, not really... but kind of!
Mirah Remix Album Due
Mirah might think her songs are like this, but other artists really think it's like this.
On November 21, K Records will release a Mirah remix album titled Joyride: Remixes. In the spirit of family members retelling each other's stories around the dinner table, the 22-track double album features contributions from K friends and family, including Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie/The Microphones), Guy Sigsworth (Frou Frou), Melanie Valera (Tender Forever), Khaela Maricich (The Blow), Jona Bechtolt (YACHT/The Blow), Cindy Wonderful (Scream Club), Anna Huff (Anna Oxygen), Luke Fischbeck (Lucky Dragons), and others.

looks good!
not really
isn't there a longneck somewhere with your name on it, emo-ly ?
Mirah is probably the only artist in my whole collection who I just can't seem to get enough of.
drank it m_h
I would have liked to have seen a Karl Blau remix in there.
umm... who the fuck are all those people??
i thought i was a k records fan! but i only recognize like 3 of those remixers names
also this:
"Mirah might think her songs are like this, but other artists really think it's like this."
is the most nerdy promo line EVER
i'm really liking the new (unreleased) album by "the blow"
very much like an electronic mirah
yes
oh, and for the connection, both of the people above are on the remix album
see, i have a point
I liked one album (EP maybe?) that I got by The Blow, but didn't like their last album much.
I've been meaning to give this one a go though.
well yes, 'paper television' is very good ...
these two songs are tops, yeah
fists up
parentheses
oh yes paper television is amazing
this remix record is pretty good too - isn't it a double album?
most of the remixers are k recs-related, or part of the underground art-music something something scene. it's weird to hear mirah in this context, but mirah in any context is always great.
yay, this is finally up on oink .. .the two tracks i've heard so far have been great
both remixes of "La Familia" are fantastic
so is "Sweepstakes Prize" and the YACHT "Make It Hot" remix
I shall be getting this tonight.
I hope Mirah is recording some new material too.
"sweepstakes prize" is my anthem of jan/feb/mar 2003
mirah on double dare
Ha, that's great.

a tour is so necessary
is this anything like Marah?
A new Mirah album... out already?
I had no idea this was on the way, let alone out already.
Oh, it's old stuff.
She needs to quit with the collabs, remixes and old stuff and give us a new solo record!
This is better than the last two releases.
Just saw her show (in New York) I have mixed feelings about it.
On the one hand she's pretty awesome to hold such a huge crowd when its just her and a guitar, on the other, her supports were rubbish and went way too long, I was pretty over it by the time she came on stage.
But then again, she's just plain beautiful when she sings.
But yeah, should have been a sit down gig.
Whinge whinge, moan moan, I just saw Mirah in New York!
BITCH
YOU ARE
Having fun?
yup, Deerhoof were also fantastic, but their supports were even more rubbish than Mirah's.
New York's ruining me for supports, the bands must be doing it on purpose to make themselves look awesome.
JEALOUSY
SMUG
You behaving yourself over there?
to the point of being boring.
ARE YOU?
Stop being boring. Go crack on to a hobo.
YOU ARE
Nup, I'm a naughty bitch.
new record coming out, 10/3, http://stereogum.com/the-gum-drop/song.php?tid=45071
